If you guys could like it on youtube, if you have an account, it would make me feel much better to not have 1 like and 3 dislikes. Also, DD you should have sold me the Cragars off of that 66, I need 2 more for the back. I'm still waiting to get enough money to buy them from summit. :D

Well, lemme know if you ever change your mind. I'd love to buy a set that I actually know would fit without having to deal with anything.

@Project, thanks for the accolades on the vid. I'm glad someone liked it, and I hope you manage to get your car done in time.

My story starts with something that was a pre-mopar. When I was 15 I got interested in WWII reenacting. My unit never had a vehicle so I made it my mission to get a jeep. I searched around for a few months before finding a 1946 Cj-2a near me that would make a perfect Mb clone. So I started off the mild restoration of this Willys with my father in September of 2007, I had it to its first event in January of 2008. It still needed a lot more to be totally correct.

The Willys that I named Ruthy after my grandmother was a rolling restoration for the next 2 years. Last summer she got a rebuilt motor that I built and installed myself. Latter in 2008 I picked up a 1945 Bantam T-3 trailer to pull be hind Ruthy. That restoration was finished in the spring of 2010 just before I graduated high school. My father and I enjoy taking it to local car shows and reenactments and the share the rich history of the jeep.

My dad kept telling me stories about the 67 Formula S that he bought brand new when he returned from Vietnam. Hearing all of these stories got me hooked, I became quiet the Mopar fan very fast. It wasn't long before I started looking for a fish like my dads. I was on ebay every night and my dad noticed and I think he loved the idea of having another cuda. In 2009 I found a 68 notchback not too far away for a decent price on ebay. My dad and I bid and he was surprised that we won the car for $1600. Its was missing its drive train and most of the interior but it was a good start.

About two years later the barracuda is still a work in progress or what I like to call a money hole. I am currently enrolled in Wyotech at their pa campus. Im taking the Collision and Refinishing course as my main study and after that I will be taking Street Rod and Custom Fabrication. The school campus is 5 hours away from home so I really miss my Willys and my Mopar. My goal after I get out of school is to get in the restoration and street rod business and maybe open a shop of my own. Well thats my story to date.

Thx. for kicking things off Evan! Hopefully other "Young Guns" will read your story and send in their story for everyone to read. Peter

Ya even already did his story on the first page.... Same for the rest of us.

Do we repost or?

DevilDog I am making the assumption that you are or were a Marine. Where are you stationed and what not? I just got out this past November. Almost a year out. I am a huge Mopar guy and won't and haven't owned anything other than a Mopar

Hey My Name is Ronny Conklin, I just turned 23..I have been into muscle cars longer then i can remember. I grew up riding in my Dads 71 383 roadrunner and 6 pack Cuda He has owned since the late 70's. My first car was gonna be his 73 340 Cuda but he said it needed to much work and to expensive if anything happened to it. So at 14 bought a **** box chevy vega...I ended up building a big inch small block on spray with 4 speed, caged it and painted it hugger orange and that was my ride... Still have it, I got my first mopar when i was 17. A 68 formula s 4 speed with 3701 miles original... paid 200 bucks for it. Subframe connected, caged, mini tubbed, 8 3/4, 4 piston kelsey hayes. It was a race car being built in 70 and guy lost interest so it sat.. Come loaded with nos parts and pieces. A dads friend had another running 340 4 speed formula s rotted to death but i bought it for 1600 bucks for all the parts i needed to put mine back together. Went over the 340 and 4 speed installed them in my clean roller. Painted it plum crazy purple, nitrous, line locks, centerline wheels.. etc makes 2-3 years worth of work and money sound simple.. My 2nd Mopar is a 340 4 speed duster, My dad and I bought it from a family friend, finished it and before we could give it back to him he passed away. The duster gets driven about everyday rain or shine from spring to fall. 3rd mopar is a 73 340 4 speed cuda that was given to me 9/9/2010 on my birthday that needed a complete restoration. I was well into doing over the winter until the spring when i bought a legend race car. That took up my entire summer. Racing is over this weekend so its gonna be time to go back on my 73 cuda and get it further along. My girlfriend is interested in working on it as well, Maybe make a mopar chick out of her?

So for the time being i keep up on all the cars here, My dad has gotten older and moved to a new girlfriend after a divorce and lost interest in the cars. He taught me all about these cars and knows they are in safe hands.

For the future who knows..... For now keep working at my dads garage, racing.. maybe settle down with the girlfriend, And get my 73 done. Here a few pics

My story: I got interested in Mopars at a very young age (about 6-8 years old) when my father brought home our '70 Newport convertible around 1999-2000. I remember the late nights out in the barn with my father for two years restoring the car. Of course I was to young to do anything major but I did minor stuff like help bleed the brakes and stuff like that. Fast forward to 2008-2009 my father got me a job on saturdays working at a Mopar restoration and racing shop where I eventually bought my '67 Valiant 100 from. Heres a link to my build:

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/...d.php?t=121730

I'm going to be putting a 413, 4 speed, 8 3/4 3.91 sure-grip drive train in it. I soon found FABO and at first just looked around but as I became more involved in my Valiant I decided to join up. I love this site because there are so many nice people and other people that lend a hand when need. This site also led us to our third Mopar, our '65 273 Commando 4 speed non-Formula-S car. Thats going to be our next project. And within 3 months ago we picked up our fourth Mopar, a '71 Newport 4 door hardtop thats all original. So as you can see I'm very active in the Mopar world and know a lot about them. I'm a 17 year old teen on a mission and I hoped you enjoyed my story.

MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :burnout::burnout::burnout:

I don't have pictures of the '71 yet on the computer.

Project 65 Peter, are the non-winning entrants from last year's Young Guns contest eligible again this time around if they post a link to their story (and maybe give us an update on the car(s) since last year) here in your thread?

It is too late to throw a pair of custom-coated small block Mickey Thompson valve covers into the Prize Package? Of course, the winner can choose his / her powder color from anything I have in stock at the time, as well as any desired polishing /machine finish on the ribs and logos. Please note that I'm still working through backlog and have gotten in some new work since the initial contest announcement, so I can't promise they'll be ready to go by Christmas ... but the offer's out there if the winner is patient. These will be a mutual gift from HawaiiDuster and me since he told me to put them to good use. :-D

Great stories guns!! :-D Keep them coming. Ya'll make me proud to be a motorhead.
