Z bar linkage alignment. Does this look right?

To me it look like the ball bracket on the bell is bent. It should be flat, straight, or whatever word you want to use to define not bent.

I see that now, wow.
Definitely worth a look. Would be a simple fix too, thanks for looking.
I would not shim the K frame. I would fix the reason the K frame doesn't sit flat to the frame rails first.
Makes sense, thank you.

There's a different bellhousing bracket/stud for '72 and up also, but doesn't apply here.

Classic is a good vendor, but anytime I can give Brewers the business, I do.
Unmatched customer service.

Dan says parts look correct, so will be looking at mounts.
Thanks to you all for input.

I would do Mega Parts if you need something. Though they don't have that Classic kit, they have it all individually. Or Brewers.

I am not pushing Classic, just using the pics for reference....
There is nothing wrong with Classic. They sell 90% of the same parts made by the same people as ALL other resellers do. Case in point. the Corbin clamp kit they sell for small blocks is made by Some-body-or-others Cuda (I don't recall the name) his stickers are still on the packaging when you get it from Classic (complete with 3 incorrect sized clamps that would only fit OEM 1960's hoses).

The thing that I do not care for are all of their add on charges.

There's something wrong when they sell you something, tell you it's in stock and six weeks later you still don't have it only to find out they never had it, either.

Bob Jasinski just had this same problem with an earlier A body. It looks like you have a similar angle to the dangle problem. Bob had just installed the engine and it was not nested in the slots the way it needed to be for the Z bar alignment.

Good to know, thank you. I will follow upon this as I have time to work on the car.

What add on charges?

Every place charges shipping, most should be charging tax:

If I buy from classic I get charged tax and shipping

If I buy from DMT I get charged shipping

There is a huge price difference and there is a huge shipping difference, but I don't see extra fees

That happens to everyone. back orders and stock errors. They handle 10,000s more parts than most others.

Im not a supporter of Classic but if OER / Classic did not exist some repo parts would not get made, they have the sales volume to pay the upfront costs

Well, new biscuit mounts looked right and engine was sitting level when checked with a level, so I removed torque shaft and definitely has a pretty good bend in the BH bracket. Good eye Dano! No idea how it got that way, but hoping it is this simple!

can get bent if you remove the rear mount to pull out the trans, and droop the engine down to rest the pan on the steering cross member (with block of wood), without taking the z bar out first or at least removing the bolts on the bellhousing side.

engine at full droop with the rocker tins (or distributor) hitting the bulkhead
This takes the mis alignment at the the inner end of the Z par past what is possible on some cars.
Stud then hits side of tube. nylon bushes get cracked or mushed and mounting gets bent.

with my 6 its easy to do this with a v8 may be less so.
my point is doing stuff in the wrong order can have an impact....
i made the mistake once and learned.... :)

other option is high curb big tree root or big chunk of road debris hit it at some point in the last 50+ years
