Smart? HA! Like I tell everybody else.....I learned from repetition, just like a CHIMP. LMAO. I ain't smart. Hell, ain't you seen? People are always kickin me in the teeth around here, so I must be a dumbass.

I have all 4 door panels from a 73 Dart, will they be of any use/fit??I,m not sure. They,re an ugly color, but he can paint them.Let me know DarTT in a PM and I,ll box them up and ship to you or StrokerScamp?I was in your shoes once and was lucky to have a friend guide me along the way while redoing a 69 Mustang when I was 18 yrs old.It helped keep me outta trouble too.:snakeman:Let me know if these will be of any use.:-D

I'm not sure about the panels. Bruce is handling helping him with the interior. I think Bruce said they have the interior stuff.....I think. Give him a shout in chat and see what he says.

Wow what a lucky kid. Good thing he doesnt have MS so he is able to bolt on all those parts.

You aren't no dumbass, but it sounds like we both have a lot lessons learned in common. I learned them all the hard way, by ruining my stuff and it costing me $$$ until I figured it out.
Nobody has made more mistakes than I, if so, they really are a dumbass! :D

I was 17, and threw a rod in my 273 4 spd. 64 Barracuda. Had no idea how to use a mic, so I just bought .002 undersize bearings, and hoped for the best. Well, of course it locked up almost immediately and I got to do it right, the second time.

Ok I dont have much for parts but a few things laying around. What does he need? Besides everything lol. Mike could you put together a parts list of things you need?

I have

2 14x7 Cragars need a bit of work not fancy but useable
Some spare trim windwhield, back window and drip rail use able
.850 torsion bars

I have a new chrome oil pan for a 360 I may never use.....get a list, I have more!!

sorry I missed this......I will ask him. I think the engine has apan, but he might like chrome. I'm surprised he aint popped in hisself.

He might need the oil pan if he's still going to use this 360, it came out of a van.. I've never messed with small blocks dunno if there different or not for cars, trucks and vans....

green hornet i know what your saying and im in too i have a 904 trans that worked good when i pulled it a yr and a half ago might even have a cross member for it too DarTT just come and get it
Terry
That'd be awesome dude thanks so much!!

I have been reading your posts. If I can help with anything you need let me know. I live in Pa. I have alot of Duster and Demon parts. Some might work for you. I am going to take this intake and valve covers off. also the distributor , wires , coil. and headers. this car is being put back to original. You will have to pay the shipping.I will be taking this out as soon as my truck is finished. Before winter for sure. I will keep intouch. Let me know. Maybe someone can help him with shipping on his end. I will glass bead the intake when its off so it looks new. I might not use the carb but not sure. Everything on here works perfect car ran low 12's in its day. still starts and drives. There is also a set of 4 Aluminum slots laying here. off a 70 dart with like new Micky thomson tires Indy profile on rear. I was not from a wealthy family. I use to work outside like you . in the rain and snow under a tarpe. Now 40 years later I have a complete resto shop for me and my hobbies. And 5 sponcers for my sons sprint car one being a Dodge Dealer. They all kicked in on his orange Duster. What comes around goes around. If you have a dream follow it. It keeps you going through hard times. Do not give up on the Dart no matter what arrises. I honestly believe God only helps those who help Others. I lived by that. I have every nut ,bolt and bracket to install that motor also. Heres a pic of my son and the motor parts . You can see by his eyes he smiling ear to ear. If only my dad would have met him.
Man, That would be really great, That would be some really golden stuff to have. I am so very grateful!!!:-D

I'll get the trans when I pick up the drill press. I'm helpin Mike with his engine and trans build and this is where the engine and trans needs to be anyhow. Don't worry. I ain't doin it FOR him. I'm gonna teach him to fish. LOL I have a good 4 barrel intake I'll throw on him if he wants it. We haven't really talked about what carb he's gonna run yet. I already have an A-999 that I would let him have, but I promised it and some manifolds I have to Harrison on here in return for a slant six and slant 904 trans. This is good he's got the trans covered too, now. And anybody that wants to donate anything engine, trans and drivetrain and suspension related PM me and I'll come get it. As long as it aint too far from middle Georgia. Since I'm gonna be helpin him, this is where all the parts need to be. If somebody wants to bring somethin here, that's cool, too.
Thanks Rob, you're a great guy, thanks so much!!

Sweet IDEA!! I may have a few things the span models....gaskets & such.... I'm in!!

Funny you should get this going now, last week Wed a bunch of us met in Mt Clemens MI. and we noticed that most of the guys standin next to the cars & rubbin em down had a "Touch of gray" ( if they had a strand of hair left at all)......the question was was asked..."who's gonna do this when all us boomers are gone?" most of the yung guns are into overly decorated foreign rice burning sewing machings on steriods that boom more than they go.....precious few hold any regard for ground pounding "Detroit muscle".....its refreshing to see that some yunguns still dance to a different drummer and desire the look of the lines, the feel of the steel , the glimmer of chrome and the excitement generated by releasing 400 plus horses with the tip of your toe, scorching the rubber while listening to the roar of the engine & exhaust and feeling the g force slam you back in your seat as your classic leaps into kinetic momentum!!
The answer to the question asked WHO.... yunguns like DarTT!! who wanna go to that "special place" where it all started...... hooo RAH!!
I am in and I will scan the locals for what they may be able to contribute to the cause this is a noble venture and I will do what I can to help
applause applause!!!
DARTT never take your eyes off the prize!!!

I never do. This car is gonna be built by me, for me to keep til I cant drive it anymore or I ain't around to!

Thank you guys so much,if I smile any bigger I'd rip my own ears off!! I am so very grateful right now for such great people on here. I will be posting a list of stuff I need overall. Man, Can someone pinch me?! This is like some kind of insane dream! This makes me so very happy, I wish I could quote the entire thread and say Thank you to everyone!! Thanks so much everybody I didn't expect this kinda response to this kind of thing. I never really like to ask for anything, I even dislike asking to borrow tools or anything of the sort. I am in such debt to all the members here, especially Greenhornet!!!!
THANKS SO MUCH GREENHORNET AND EVERYONE ELSE!!!! I COULDN'T BE ANY HAPPIER!!!:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D

Greenhornet you are a man after my heart!!
This is what a car club is all about in my opinion.

DarTT still has the car at my house for a while and I am giving him all the help that I can with it physically.
Plenty of coaching though as long as I can run my mouth. LOL
He has a place to stay here any time he wants and can get away so he doesn't have to comute (He is 3 hours away from me).
So if any of you want to send him parts to the car you are welcome to send them here and I will put 'em in his car.

We are gonna try and get the interior painted and such before I start Chemo and Radiation crap in a couple a weeks. I am hearing that once that starts I won't be good for much for a while.

So let me thank you all for Mike and the mopar brotherhood!!!
WAY TO GO GUYS!!!

Hey Scott,
That's a great offer but the '73's won't work onna '70.
He is lucky that he has the original '70 Dart GT 1 year only door panels and they are in great shape.

Later,
Bruce B.

sorry I missed this......I will ask him. I think the engine has apan, but he might like chrome. I'm surprised he aint popped in hisself.
I have a good idea why he has not popped in :happy10:
I learned here about three years ago that it is harder to receive then give.
I was in an emotional break down outside that night the folks here gave me a lovely and one of a kind 66 Valiant sedan I call Victoria Hornet :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby: and did not know how to handle the gifting of Victoria It floored me to say the least :eek:fftheai::eek:fftheai:
My brother and wife had to keep everyone updated because I was in shock

I have seen DarTT and his efforts that bring me back when my uncles made sure I had a car.

Hornet !! you sure have a kind and caring hart brother :happy10:

DarTT read this thread from the past

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=24567

and it made a magazine with a short story

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=52109

Let me know the complete gasket set he will need and when and I will send it your way :happy10:
and teach DarTT well on this build, this was the best memories of my uncles showing me how to build an engine and I hope you will have this memory in your life to enjoy as much as I am enjoying the time I spend with my family here as we give thanks for our blessings DarTT :happy10:

Do not let these great folks here down and let them do what makes us happy helping a young gun that could use some guidance and help that some folks don't have at home 8)
I have only one demand of you DarTT !! Enjoy and be safe every minute you get to spend with your car :-D

They are different. He will need the oil pan and pick up for a car.

Bruce I have to thank you most of all, you helped me go through anything and everything and saved me from throwing a few things out that were importnat and also, most importantly, you replaced anything that was missing. Please, if you could, name anything that wasnt already on my list of stuff I need. Kinda stumped and don't know what else. Im pretty sure that is all. but Im not sure.
Thanks again Bruce, you rock as always. And thanks Greenhornet!!!

Mike you can pay us all back by followin through!!! and I know from talkin to you that you will. did you see Ed is sendin me a carburetor for you? That will be a nice one when finished. You need to make sure you keep a record of what you get and from whom. I will help with that with anything that is sent this way. That way, you will know how to drop a little thank you not to in the mail. This is gonna be fun.

OK then....
Body Parts I KNOW he needs:
Ignition and Door Lockset with Key (Some dumbazz lost the keys...).
Trunk lock with key (Same dumbazz lost this key too).
Drivers side Armrest and Base - Black if possible.
A center floor patch about 10 in X 10 in drivers side.
The fiberglass panels that go behind the Kick Panels - both sides.

Thats all off the top of my head.
I am sure we will come up with some more later.

He also wants to put the Black Vinyl Top back on her
and Black carpet.
