-
welcome back Dude..............

Thanks Bro, a little break did me good.... CHECK THIS OUT!!!!!
MOON has brought back the "Metal Flake" steering wheels, two sizes, 13.5" and 15".. Gonna get a Blue 13.5" for the gasser when I peddle enough parts on ebay to SCORE one, $75.00 plus the ship isn't bad considering the vintage metal flake wheels are selling for between $100.00 to $200.00...

A break helped, I was spending way to much time on the net... For $75.00??? Thats a deal on a new metal flake wheel, after you put the horn cap on no one can tell it's a re-po... Your Dart would look SWEET with one....

I bought a new wheel, but it,s a foam grip.Ah well.I,ve bought my 66 Dart some RMS goodies,UCA and adjustable strut rods with the hyme joints.Atleast I,ll have something to do this winter.

Sounds like plenty to do this winter... I've gotta get some sort of cover over mine where I can still work on it... I've got some sweet parts deals lined up if any of them don't fall through...

Thats what I need if I can keep from catching it on fire.... Some people say "you don't have bad winters in north carolina", yeah right, some parts arent bad, I'm almost at a mile high altitude, about 25 miles from me one area got 200 mph winds one day, these mountains will fool ya just how bad it can get...

I,m sure you could make some type of lean-too out of wood and a couple tarps(cheap)you could even double line it for extra strength.Jeez, around here you can pickup 20 skids for free, disassemble and use the wood(I burn it in my woodstove for free heat)The way you improvise with what you have laying around, you could build yourself a shelter and run some type of heat in it for when your working on the GASSER!Come on now,you can do it!

You know me to well pettyblu, I'll probably just axe down a few trees and pick up some tarps at harbor freight, "seriously".... I mite start on that tomorrow....8)

Hmmm... I could have sworn I subscribed to this thread back when it was like 2 pages long. I guess that explains why I haven't gotten updates on it. Now I'll have to do some back-reading, But from what I saw it looks fantastic! Keep up the good work!

I,ve actually seen a guy make a sub floor out of skid wood, then mounted the shelter down to the floor. He even made a frame for a old garage door,he heated it yearound with a micro-furnace.He stored a Rustang in it(boring). You might want to put something down on the ground to keep frost/moisture down away from the car.Good luck,I know you can do it!:clock:

I'll come up with something, surely if I can build a 3 story parts building I can build the gasser a temporary shelter.. If I think of it tomorrow I'll post a pic of my parts shed, I'm not scared of heights but sideing the 3rd story without a ladder about got me...

Hi..hope all is well. Not to hi-jack the thread or anything, but I have a blue metal flake steering that has never been mounted. I can't find the center cap though. If you want it, I will cut you a real good deal on it. I think it is the "13 diameter IIRC and it has the holes in it. They all require the Grant adapter also IIRC. I was gonna use it on my 46, but it ain't happened yet.

Once again, not to hi-jack but I thought that might save ya some $$ in your budget build. PM me if you are intrested.

I am missing the picture updates, hope you are still progressing with it.
I believe GH is in the process of building his shelter for the Gasser. He said he was needing a place to work on it to be out of the elements(weather).I too am waiting to see pics of the GreenHornet,s NEST!!!LOL
