thread of shame

-
Funny, I sold to another member here and have no feedback, so what does that say? Now feedback doesn't mean a whole lot to me, because I am not a seller/ buyer in essence, but I tend to trust my judgement, do my homework etc. My greatest feedback is my own reputation being judged by me and me only that no one sees.
I do like to sleep at nite.
lol

X2
I'm so tired of hearing this argument,If we all would use the feedback column we would have an idea of who we are dealing with. And remember folks the feedback works Both ways .People who publicly out someone cause they feel a deal went wrong will never be buying anything from Me. I just refuse to deal with them. The suspicion of guilt goes both ways and you just can't get rid of that stink. That's all I'm saying on the matter.

So if "outing" someone who has admitted to a moderator on this site that he received cash from someone and has relisted parts that were for sale back on the same forum he originally listed the parts on without refunding the money sent to him would mean that by not making that person known to the members of this forum would mean you wouldn't sell to the person who disclosed the identity of that seller?

:wack:

What is with the attitude?? Just merely pointing something out.....
Maybe we should just let things be the way they are.....when someone gets ripped off let them start a thread about it, turning into a trainwreck and then send it to the shitter, it will be the easiest way to deal with it:banghead::banghead: Not going to be able to please everyone anyway.......

I threw out an idea. You shot it down and made an innaccurate statement. Nobody has to give an address to be a member there. Those address come from the done deals. As you, I was merely pointing something out. Just because you're a mod now doesn't mean you're any smarter than anyone else. I was trying to help the situation by giving you samples of what other sites do. I have the right to have attitude all I want to just like anyone else. Don't expect me not to have one when I offer a helping hand and it gets bit off.

And having someones address does what?? You gonna send Vito to visit them if they rip you off??

here is an example of someone using the same address but different name. an address or email can be checked out before you send out any money or parts, regardless of the name: HAMB name = sikfab;
Jason Walden. (Lakewood, CA and surrounds) - This guy is somehow hooked up with Reuben Fukes girl but IS NOT Reuben. Dead giveaway is the same email address and cell phone number. He likes to tell you he'll buy something and that he sent a money order. Then you'll get a message that he has someone coming to pick it up. even gives you a tracking number. You, the seller, being smarter than that, tell him you'd rather wait for the money. Now you're in for a long, long line of excuses. You will not get the money....H.A.M.B. Name = 1evil51; DaRusty1
Reuben Fuke (Lakewood, CA) - He likes to use his girlfriend's home address as a return addy. Her name is Jennifer. If you have had problems with Reuben in the past, please PM me - The H.A.M.B. is considering going after Reuben legally. [email protected] 562 209 2720

This is one of them Hmmmm threads for me i have no place to post in here i only deal with guys i know and have talked to for along time here cliff, bob , kk, rob,and a few more .. they all know im slow but they get what they want and i get what i want . i think if u thing that u mite get ripped off well then dont do it DUH LOL

This guy re-listed the parts here after we had an agreement without contacting me.

Well your seller sounds like a F$*knnn Dirt Bag to the core. Expose the Cracker for who he is. 8 months is a Joke with him not at least trying to make it right in 1 way or the other, and then posts the parts for sale again?? Sorry to say you more than likely will not see your $$ ever again.

this is one reason I like to do deals in person face to face cash on the barrel head
(but I know you can't always do it that way unfortunately)

fortunately all my transactions with fellow members here, either in person or through the mail have been great,

just wanted to make sure anyone reading this thread didn't get the wrong idea,
and remind everyone of all the good honest members willing to go out of there way to help someone out with a good deal (at least that has been my experience)

rant over, we now return you to your regularly scheduled program

Dumb question I guess, but where is the feedback section for a member?

you click on their user name, from the drop down box, click on their profile, and then you will see feedback score next to their contact info. i always leave a feedback score. the only pain in the *** is having to have deal URL. i have had many issues with that because they dont always take and you have to keep entering a URL until it takes, otherwise you cant leave a score. if the mods would delete the need for a deal URL, i think it would be more user friendly and therefore people would use it more.IMO

I did that and looked in there and didn't see how to do it right off.
Sounds like a case of simpler is better, and I'll chk into it more and see.

i see what you are saying, i tried it on mine and all i could do was look at it and i didnt have the option of leaving a score. hmmmm....

ok MODS, how about THIS. set it up so that we can click on the user name and have the option of leaving or viewing the feedback score RIGHT FROM THE USER NAME DROP DOWN BOX? if it was user friendly ,people would use it. once again, just a thought.

The few times that I have bought and sold on FABO have been good experiences until now. I paid for a part about 2 1/2 weeks ago with a Postal money order and haven't received the part yet. I sent a PM and he confirmed he received the payment but had't found a box to send the part in. I have sent 2 more PM's and received no answers. Is there anything that can be done through FABO? I will wait another week and the contact the Post Office. I haven't waited as long or possibly lost as much money as some have but it still pi$$e$ me off.:-x

I hate jumping in something like this, but I do have to say that everyone I've dealt with on here has been awesome. Thankfully, buying or selling, I really haven't had any bad things happen. Not that hasn't been resolved to a good ending. Unfortunately, no matter what we do, what rules we impose, there will always be some dishonest people out there trying to get money the easy way, and they WILL find a way to do it. Always have, always will. Justice makes us feel better, when it happens. But, there are going to be many more times that it happens without any justice, any revenge, any thing. Sometimes, we just have to say "damnit." shake our heads, and go on. I love my cars, I love my money, I know I bust my *** for it, but regardless, I have alot more things in my life that matter more, and I'm not going to dwell on the things that suck, and the people that suck. I'll just try to learn from it, and do what I can. My .02.

paypal wont help you out on this jerk.they should be able to they have his infro...good luck with it and i also agree on the list of some kind

Hey, you may be onto something here. We can hire a FABO "Mob Squad". Tony, Vito, Vinny, & George. They must be Italian and from New York, Chicago, LA etc. (like Joe Peschi, Al Paccino and such). When someone doesn't follow through on the deal, we can send the mob squad to visit them (at a $50 - $100 charge per visit to be paid by victim of deal). First visit they get a broken arm, second visit a broken leg, third visit they get put in a "cardboard box" and sent home to mama...

This will send a message to the scammers and eventually "weed them out" (pushing up daisies) if they don't, and FABO will be a better place...

Or maybe get the tv show Cheaters to help us follow and track down the scammers and then we can confront them face to face. We could pitch it to the tv show saying that they are "cheating" us out of our money....

lmao .."tonight, on this weeks episode of FABO Stomp Crew, the gang travels to North Dakota to pay a visit to User name 123hemihead to attempt retribution on an apparent dash pad scam" hey i like it !!!

I just read this entire post.
My suggestion is to do your homework on the person, as in, read their posts for a few months previous and get a flavour on what this person is and what they are all about.....
I would never consider buying from anyone who sounds suspicious or has an extremely low post count.
Talk to them on the phone, and see if they are legit or just a haywire jackass.
If they won't talk on the phone, or have excuses not to, that's a big red flag!
99% of the dealings i had on here were very good to excellent.
The only problem i had was one person that i sent some free parts to and would not reimburse the shipping costs to me.
It cost me $24, but it ended up costing that person a lot more than that when he tried to roast me on here.....
A phone call and some research would have gone a long way to avoid this on my part.
Just sayin'..........
Tom.

a recent transaction i had went like this. i dropped cash in the mailbox. a week went by, nothing. 2 weeks went by ,nothing. the seller told me he had not received the money. at this point, i wrote it off as lost or stolen along the way. 3 weeks went by,nothing. the fourth week, i get an email from he seller stating that he had just received the money, and that my parts were on their way. the parts were at my door in less than a week. i know that the guy was telling the truth because he had already had the parts boxed up addressed to me and was just waiting on the cash. i understand our mail service can be delayed but DAMN, a whole month for one little envelope to travel a couple thousand miles??? point is ,i think that ANYTHING over 2 months is more than adequate time to make ANY transaction.

I have a deal like this going on right now on eBay. I bought some parts and the seller has sent them but nearly three weeks and they have not shown up. He didn't get a tracking number because he was trying so ship cheaply so there is no way to see where the package is. The guy sells $1200 to $1500 gutars so I don't think he would be ripping me off for less than $50.

The feedback system is entirely too difficult to use and isn't on a members main page ID but if the system was improved then it could help stop a lot of these ripoffs.

I DON'T THINK SO.

I sold a super charger on Turbo Dodge. The buyer bought several items I had and wanted them shipped together. He had a buisness account with FedEx. He Had them picked up By FedEx so he knows they were shipped.. 2 months go buy and I get a call He didn't get them yet. Can I give a discription of the box. I did better I had a picture. it was a hooker header box form summit and it was in the bacground of a build picture.

He conntacted me 3 months later and needed me to look at some picture from FedEx to him confirm that this is what I shipped in the box and contact Fedex. I did. I didn't see all of the items and explained that to them.

4 months later he contacted me he told me they Finally sent him the items. alot of the parts were missing that were in the pics they sent him. So he knows they were in the box. One thing was the B&M Blower. He is still fighting this battle Today . Its almost two years.

So I wouldn't blame the seller. Our postal system sucks. The web and emails took alot of money from them and the people there just don't give a **** any more. Your lucky you got them. UPS is the only way besides the US mail. And drop it off never have it picked up. The Driver gets a discription of whats there and is then left alone with it in the truck
???

Here is what was shipped. He paid a several G's for everything and didn't get half. But it was there in the pics from them to him. I insure everything for its value . But they have forever to Pay
