Project Frog Princess

I would jump on that like a homeless guy on a welfare check.

I'm not homeless, but I jumped anyway. :) It's ordered.
Hope they aren't sending junk.
The calipers are GM.
Everything for the HDK except Fatman custom tie rod ends, and the coilovers is ordered.
Now if Denny would just get moving. :bball:

(kidding - way shorter wait time than I expected)

DartVader had some cool photo edits on his page. I searched and found an iphone program that can simulate HDR effects. I think it takes fashionable patina to another level of cool.

Another version.
(this happens when you're waiting for parts - blame it on Denny and Brian from IMM)

Hate to even bring this up...
More potential budget busting. Brian at IMM suggested some time ago that I change the pistons to something zero deck with valve reliefs. He's OK with me running the stockers if I check valve clearance and do not advance the cam.

For now I plan to stay with the junkyard engine concept and do just that. I can always rebuild the bottom end down the road.

I also have to decide on what rocker arms to run with the RHS heads. I thought of spending the dough on the Hughes shaft system and have a bullet proof top end. But I just noticed they are 1.65 ratio, not 1.6. Not sure what to make of that.

Edit: just went back through communication with Brian. His suggestions were Hughs rockers (the non shaft ones I think - still $335!) or PRW ($121). I think if he's OK with PRW I'll trust his experience and save about $375 (the shaft rockers are $500).

I have a set of PRW rockers on my RHS /INDY X heads . they need a little work to make them work right but still very nice setup .

That's interesting. I need more info to make a decision.

Looks like you have the LA version with shaft mount. Mine will be the Magnum version, no shafts. Not sure if Brian's advice was to be taken as "PRW for LA engines" and "Hughes for Magnum" or what.:dontknow:

Awesome work so far! the Dart looks great...:happy1:
I really like those photos you made..where did you find that program on the I phone?

App called "Dynamic Light".
Easy to use. Even I can do it.
The setting for the last one is "no more HDR"

The package from CPP arrived. Packaging is top notch. Parts look decent.
Now I need something to hang them from...

Yes they came assembled. I'm impressed with this company. Good on the phone as well.

The power rack came as well. Not so well packaged, but survived anyway. I found this piece for $114 + $30 core, free shipping, lifetime warranty.

First thing that impressed me was picking up the box. It was kinda like lifting a milk jug that you think is full, but is near empty. Compared to the steering gear its replacing this thing is like a feather. Nice, it will offset the weight of RHS heads.

Ordered the custom Fatman tie rod ends as well. Their rep went out of his way to explain the function without me asking. They have longer mounting studs to reduce bump steer induced by the added caster (3 degrees) recommended when using a power rack.

Neat build. Didn't realize you were located so close to me, looking forward to seeing it on the road.

Ah the lifter washer. I'm getting old and slow :)

The HDK is here. Looks beautiful.
Now to figure out what to do with this collection of parts...

Biggest run of King salmon up the Columbia system ever recorded...
The Dart will have to wait a bit.
