Hey, calm down. We've all been there.
There are two sides to the posting in for sale section. How would you like it if you posted an ad for parts for sale and someone else started knocking your asking prices?
If you are selling a part, you can ASK any price that you want, it doesn't mean that someone is going to be willing to pay it. If you have something in good shape that is rare, then it may be worth it to the right person, you have a right to get as much for your parts as you can.
On the other hand, someone can also list a similar part for a lower asking price if they want, or start a "part wanted thread" and see what other people have to offer and if their price is any better.
How would you feel if you had a rare expensive part for sale and everyone started bashing your asking price? Especially the "cheap skates" who try to get something for nothing. You have a right to ask whatever price for your part as you want, but it doesn't mean that someone will pay it. If you think the price is too high, move on and look for it somewhere else. If the price is really too high, the guy won't be able to sell it and will have to eventually keep it or lower his price to where someone will buy it.
But it is not fair to the seller if everyone starts to beat him down on price. It is up to you as a buyer to know what the parts should be worth and make sure that you don't pay too much - do a search for other parts like it and see what they go for.
I've been in your shoes, and it doesn't seem fair, but if you really think about it and put yourself on both sides of the fence, it is fair.
However, if you stick around for a while and see what goes on, then you will also see that Joey (the site owner/administrator) is pretty fair and will let you state your point, even if it's directed at him. I've seen him let so many things go that I would not, he does let you state your point. Believe me, I've seen it and given him my share of arguments, and he lets you state your point without deleting it or editing it as long as you follow the simple rules not to insult others.
You are lucky to have gotten warnings. I've gone off once or twice and gotten some infractions without any warnings. Yes, it pissed me off, but I took some time off to cool down so it didn't get me banned. (try to beat a 7 pointer...)
I've seen some members get banned. Even some that were previously moderators, so the "friends" with the moderator thing is not an accurate statement here.
There have also been members banned who Joey has let come back if they can follow the rules. He will let you have a second chance if you make a mistake and do get banned, you have to take some time off and then discuss it with Joey to come back. He's reasonable that way and will give you a second chance.
I myself have gotten upset and confronted Joey a few times, he always lets me state my point whether he agrees with me or not. We have then gone to PM and settled things. It's not easy owning a site and trying to get everyone to get along. There are many different personalities out there, sooner or later two of them will not see eye to eye. He's just trying to run a site and keep as many members as he can. But he's at least fair enough to let you state your point and he won't delete it, he could edit it out if he chose to.
Joey puts alot of time into this site. I see him on here all the time at all hours making sure that everything is running smoothly, or he gets on the problem as soon as he finds it. He does not just leave it to run itself, he has to keep on it to keep it going without threats from outside. I've seen him prevent hackers from getting in here and messing things up. At least he's here all the time to make sure things are going well. Give him some credit and consideration, it's not easy to run a site and try to keep people from arguing and turning into a circus act.
Some of the rules, I don't like myself, but we have to follow them if we want to hang out here. Yes, it could be better, but it could also be much worse.
But to me, it's a good site and the few "bad" rules are not enough to keep me away from here. There are alot of good people here with some great knowledge that can help many people get their problems solved.
