How long do I wait for parts paid for before becoming a dick! ADDED SELLERS NAME !!!

-
Exactly. Why it was brought was completely stupid. But I am not going to sit by and let some try to smear a good member's name in the mud so I said something. Eddy is among the best of the best on here.

Oh you got it right there I was very purposely going out of my way to try and smear a good member that was my full intent you got me!

Oh yeah and one more post. It's to apologize to the original poster who suffering right now but not having is rightfully paid for parts sent to him. I apologize for our bantering back and forth on your thread! I PM'd Triple R my phone number some time ago and if he wants to take care of this off the forum I'd be glad. Would be better than beating up everybody threads for what seems to be getting to be our personal beef. One more time I apologize and I wish you luck and would do anything I could to help.

Thanks JPar, no need to apologize. I don't know what went down between both of you but I hope it will be worked out in the end. I would like to thank everyone that has put in their two cents on this matter and for all the support and offers of help that I have received to help make things right. Everybody has been awesome , I can't say enough!!!It's nice to know that there are still so many out there that want and expect the right thing from a simple transaction. After all, this is supposed to be a fun hobby, isn't it??? You are all a bunch of standup people!!!!

Hope everything shakes out right

tomorrow is 5 weeks, waiting on a couple of rear sand tires from chapparel racing in cal., going to call them again, if the same excuse is used I`m going to get my $ back from paypal-already missed the ride (trip) because of their run around and excuses !:protest:

440BelII, I'm truly hoping you get your parts as paid for & promised. I don't understand people who don't communicate....

RRR....Thanks for standing up for our member Eddy who IS a great member & trusted seller

I was reprimanded by staff!

Here's a copy of what you call a "reprimand"......You're being a bit dramatic IMO

Hello j par, Please refrain from commentary in the 4-sale forums. It's not allowed here per the site owners rules...

Thank you for your understanding & cooperation

Sorry to comment on this thread which has again gone off track, but just wanted to set the record straight......:)

Thanks C! I appreciate you seeing it just like I meant it. I wasn't trying to banter or argue. Just throwing my hand up for a good member that shouldn't have been dragged into this.

Let me one more time apologize for even having to comment on this to the original poster. I thought I had made my last, but obviously they left it open for me to have to defend myself or actually don't have to but I'm. please Mr staff member also include the comment that I made on the tac in question to be fair ? So the other side of the story is seen? not as Triple R said bash the seller I simply asked if this was the same tac that was sold for $40 at any store. like I said it was not made clear that this was a valuable item. and again as I siad triple-R's favorite staff member comes to his rescue. ( with one sided information) I'll give you credit this time you didn't strike all my comments from the record and let triple-R call people stupid and stuff like that and get away with it!

And that's why I call "BULL CRAP" on the for sale rules. No comments allowed ? Like "hey this guy ripped me off!" Not allowed? I once asked a "for sale" poster why he's selling a tac for $60 when you can buy the same one at any parts store for less than $40? I was reprimanded by staff!

You can call "bull crap" all you want. The rule has been in place for a long time for a number of reasons. I'm sorry if you don't like it or didn't know about it. Its not like it says it right on the panel you type in or anything.

Well let this be a lesson to me and all the members here and especially me do not question staff do not question authority do not change any rules because all rules are great don't make any comments just sit out here and watch and listen and learn let people get ripped off not your problem let people talk crap about other people and as long as I have a member of the staff has a friend that can keep continuing to do so whatever I just don't care anymore everybody just continue being the same and doing the same thing and listening to the same people make the same comments. Enjoy your cyber lives I'm out!

I hate to ask, if 'is this the same tach that can be bought at the part store for $40" isn't a relevant question (admissable by the rule pointed out) then what is?

Simple... If you have a part for sale, do you want people coming in saying they can get it cheaper somewhere else?

Imagine this. You have a used part listed for sale. Someone else chimes in saying they saw the same part on ebay for $10 less. In your opinion, yours is in better condition. Now we have 5 pages of debate as to who's part is in better condition that culminates in an argument with name calling and all kinds of other unnecessary stuff.

How many "Nice Car" posts do you think there would be in the cars for sale threads without the rule? How about this, you have a car for sale and someone comes along and says they think its garbage. Should we leave that in there also?

Instead of FABO staff trying to be judge and jury for many for sale threads -- its a lot cleaner and easier to say "no commentary - relevant questions only".

If you go on ebay or craigslist, what questions can you ask publically? Zero. You have to email all questions.

There are other reasons as well, but in the end, believe me. These rules have been in place a long time for well thought out reasons. I didn't just sit down one day and ask myself "how can I aggravate the members?"

Hey, calm down. We've all been there.

There are two sides to the posting in for sale section. How would you like it if you posted an ad for parts for sale and someone else started knocking your asking prices?

If you are selling a part, you can ASK any price that you want, it doesn't mean that someone is going to be willing to pay it. If you have something in good shape that is rare, then it may be worth it to the right person, you have a right to get as much for your parts as you can.

On the other hand, someone can also list a similar part for a lower asking price if they want, or start a "part wanted thread" and see what other people have to offer and if their price is any better.

How would you feel if you had a rare expensive part for sale and everyone started bashing your asking price? Especially the "cheap skates" who try to get something for nothing. You have a right to ask whatever price for your part as you want, but it doesn't mean that someone will pay it. If you think the price is too high, move on and look for it somewhere else. If the price is really too high, the guy won't be able to sell it and will have to eventually keep it or lower his price to where someone will buy it.

But it is not fair to the seller if everyone starts to beat him down on price. It is up to you as a buyer to know what the parts should be worth and make sure that you don't pay too much - do a search for other parts like it and see what they go for.

I've been in your shoes, and it doesn't seem fair, but if you really think about it and put yourself on both sides of the fence, it is fair.

However, if you stick around for a while and see what goes on, then you will also see that Joey (the site owner/administrator) is pretty fair and will let you state your point, even if it's directed at him. I've seen him let so many things go that I would not, he does let you state your point. Believe me, I've seen it and given him my share of arguments, and he lets you state your point without deleting it or editing it as long as you follow the simple rules not to insult others.

You are lucky to have gotten warnings. I've gone off once or twice and gotten some infractions without any warnings. Yes, it pissed me off, but I took some time off to cool down so it didn't get me banned. (try to beat a 7 pointer...)

I've seen some members get banned. Even some that were previously moderators, so the "friends" with the moderator thing is not an accurate statement here.

There have also been members banned who Joey has let come back if they can follow the rules. He will let you have a second chance if you make a mistake and do get banned, you have to take some time off and then discuss it with Joey to come back. He's reasonable that way and will give you a second chance.

I myself have gotten upset and confronted Joey a few times, he always lets me state my point whether he agrees with me or not. We have then gone to PM and settled things. It's not easy owning a site and trying to get everyone to get along. There are many different personalities out there, sooner or later two of them will not see eye to eye. He's just trying to run a site and keep as many members as he can. But he's at least fair enough to let you state your point and he won't delete it, he could edit it out if he chose to.

Joey puts alot of time into this site. I see him on here all the time at all hours making sure that everything is running smoothly, or he gets on the problem as soon as he finds it. He does not just leave it to run itself, he has to keep on it to keep it going without threats from outside. I've seen him prevent hackers from getting in here and messing things up. At least he's here all the time to make sure things are going well. Give him some credit and consideration, it's not easy to run a site and try to keep people from arguing and turning into a circus act.

Some of the rules, I don't like myself, but we have to follow them if we want to hang out here. Yes, it could be better, but it could also be much worse.

But to me, it's a good site and the few "bad" rules are not enough to keep me away from here. There are alot of good people here with some great knowledge that can help many people get their problems solved.

Simply put, a tach that looks the same as a part from the parts store without being distinquished as different would probably solicit a question or two about it being priced higher than a simillar one (same brand, same style just a slight difference) I'm sure a large chunk of the people in this 'hobby' would miss it as well; I've been doing the old car thing for a decade now and just found out my sun tach in my camaro is worth slightly more than the parts store version.

And yes, the rule says, and I loosely quote it; no chit chat - pertinant questions only to the sale/trade of mopar parts and mopar accessories.

And I have to add, the engine I bought for my 36 pontiac took 8-10 weeks to ship and incurred about $300 in extra fees in transit, not interested in buying large items like that anymore; would rather wait and find local

I go pick up large items myself in my truck. When very far, I combine many stops in one trip to help amortize the gas cost... My truck is usually full by the time I get home. I call them my "world tours"....

I agree on this.

If it is the ultra rare version that was made of unobtanium it gives the seller a chance to state that fact and it also bumps the for sale ad back to the top of the list. The more people are talking about an item and the more it gets in front of buyers, the more of a chance it has to sell at it's asking price.

I see it as a win/win for the seller?

Yes, but it can be abused by a seller to keep bumping their ad to the top, especially if he has "friends" to keep commenting so he can keep "bumping"...

......and exactly what does all this commentary have to do with the OP's situation????? Good thing he's a nice guy to let it go on and muck up his thread!!!

Yes.

To the OP: any new status on the parts yet???

Thank You krazykuda for calming me down a little bit I've had a night to sleep on it. I have now change my avatar as you can see to the Festivus pole. I will take any further comments about said subject that doesn't have anything to do with the op's subject to general discussion under the very conveniently timed new thread started by staff discussing FABO.
Also I am anxiously awaiting some good news on your 4 speed as I believe that is a quintessential part of any muscle car! My girlfriend which is now for the obvious reasons my fiance a year ago drove to Seattle in a Volvo wagon we used to have to get my 4 Speed sight unseen, and I have loved it ever since (and her too :D )

You're welcome.

Sometimes it helps to try to look at things from a different perspective. I'm glad my comments helped.

So now that it's Festivus for the rest of us, is it time for the after dinner wrestling match with Geroge's dad??? LOL!!!

Now to the OP:

Any word on the parts, tracking number, or any communication from the seller???

Nothing new on this end. It's very frustrating, makes me want to push the car in the corner and forget about it for awile.
OH NO ! Not that! Is there anything else you can do on the car while you wait for your parts keep your interest focused ?! by far this shouldn't be the biggest hurdle. Lately everytime I come out to the car i have something else that I have to fix that prevents me from moving forward with the project. But I have to push through and find other things I can do. I'm not the kind of person that lets my projects sit around for years with no attention. If that happened someone else would be on it soon. Keep strong we're all here for you. What other things are you doing to the car let's get your mind off of it for a minute?

This thread shows exactly why the muscle car world looks at mopar owners as douchebags and a joke. Yes, there are a lot of great mopar owners... but the majority are pompous jerks and think they're better than everyone else. I see the favoritism in this thread and the cockiness of people thinking they have to come in and "defend" others. I didn't say any names... but if the shoe fits WEAR IT you cry babies. Also, admins and mods shouldn't be taking sides... they should be calming the situation down and getting back to topic. This thread is about a guy who is out a lot of money, and also didnt get a part he needed to push his project forward and all you can do is complain about each other? Geeeeeeeze.

To the original poster, I wish there was something I could do to help, hope it all works out for you and thanks for sharing the members name... I will be sure to avoid business with him simply for the fact that he has horrible communication skills, and it's not worth going through those troubles. GOOD LUCK!

Wow, you are full of it, maybe that's why you put a Shivvy in your Mopar......your post is the worst I ever read on FABO.

Sorry, don't meant to stray away from the topic of this thread ......
