Well, finally made it out to the shop a little the last couple days. Been walking on my ankle some and trying not to over do it. Not working too well. :violent1: Get busy doing something and don't realize the ankle is sore until it's too late. :wack:
Haven't been able to work on the Cuda but I've been planning what to do for a couple months now.....:D

Crap, my thread was 4 pages back, don't you guys luv me no more?!?!?! :happy1:

Where the hell is John? :toothy1:

I've been checking your thread for updates every day. I haven't been able to get much done on the car front for quite awhile either so I felt guilty about pestering you for a progress report. Glad to hear you're up and about - you lazy slug.

Your absence from the build thread reminds me of the joke 'How Do You Keep a Moron in Suspense?' every time I've checked.

Soon, John, soon!! :burnout:

I also check for your build thread just about every day. But since you said that you were out of commission for a good while I didn't want to bug you. I know that when I broke my foot I did a lot of work sitting down with my foot propped up on a chair (I can't sit still either). The worst thing you can do is stand on your ankle which makes the blood collect down there. You need good circulation for it to heal!!
I started trimming down my foot cast two weeks after they put it on me so I could start back to work. In your case (major surgery) it's best to let it heal and keep it propped up as much as possible!!! DON'T BE STUBBORN AND HARD HEADED LIKE I WAS (AM)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am taking it easy. Have a trip coming up next week and don't wanna be screwed. Supposedly, I am supposed to be "crutch" free on the first of Feb.

Have I said "getting old sucks"? :protest:

Thanks for the comments, guys!!!!!!!!!! Means a lot, believe me. Found some good friends on here. :prayer:

Well, it all depends on "who" is doing the screwing!!! :D

What a BUM!!!! Get to work like all the rest of us!!!!:burnout::protest:#-o

Found out yesterday I need a little more time with the recouperation on the ankle. Maybe this week will be enough I can be able to work on my car again!!!!!:protest:

Going to FLA for a week to hang out. See you guys when I get back!!!!!:glasses7:

Teresa thought she saw someone peeking in the window the other night. I didn't realize I was supposed to take you literally.

I imagine you're going to have a big backlog of work piled up other than the 'Cuda. Have you spent any of the time off coming up with new ideas for the build?

Yes, getting very far behind in "real work." That is going to be the main focus for a couple months. Get the income flow back to normal........ As far as the FrankenCuda goes, on the fence about a few things on the interior. Would like to have a cushy interior but don't want the added wieght. On the other hand, if I do have to sell it for some reason, alot of other people like cushy too............. it would make a good selling point.

Should I put the sunroof in out of the 300 parts car? AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

So how long does the doctor want you to wait before you start working on your feet?? Did they remove the screws, or are you screwed for the rest of your life?? (LOL)??

Treblig

I haven't been on the FABO much lately due to family, but wow on your ankle! Those screws look like some nice surgical precision! I wonder if surgeons have a forum somewhere similar to FABO where they post their patient restoration projects. I can see a thread title for you something like "Dr Smith's 1959 Baby Boomer 2nd Chance Ankle Rebuild" LOL!

Get well soon! Scott

No totally sure on that. 6 weeks and graduate to a slip on brace that fits in shoes. (kinda) Then being careful with a cane yet after that.
Feels pretty good today... Gonna see what happens in shop tomorrow!!!!

Had to dig my thread out of the archives to update. :protest:

Marked my windshield to cut it shorter.

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got to do something to my car after 2 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're a brave dude if you going to attempt to trim down the front glass. I've seen it done on U tube. It looks pretty simple as long as you go slow and make all the required stress relief holes/cuts so it doesn't shatter!!
The windshield is under so much stress/tension from the manufacture process that it only takes cutting just a 1/4" too far without the stress relief holes/cuts before it cracks all to H3LL!!

Glad you're back!!!!!!!!!

Congrats - both on your recovery process and being able to get to the car.

That said - following Treblig's comment - is it possible to get an entirely custom window made for the car without venturing into Six-Pack Resto prices?

Besides the fact that a new window would prevent having to cut a piece of tempered glass, the ability to get it made wider could help you keep the factory look of those pencil-thin A-pillars and stay in keeping with the sublimely subtle chop.

-Kurt

P.S.: This has to be my favorite chop of all time, I might add, if not my favorite A-body Barracuda on the whole site. Might even be my favorite Barracuda, and that's coming from a fellow who has worshiped the E-body Barracuda over the A-body since the age of 10.
