Stop in for a cup of coffee

I didn't get judged. When I registered they said "You need a fire extinguisher to be judged". I said I don't have one and none of the ads said one was required. When I called, no one said I needed one. The lady looked at me and said, "No problem, we can sell you one!".

I stared back and said "Umm, no. I'm just here for fun anyway. Just stamp my card as a no judge."

Then later I heard them calling on the loudspeaker looking for volunteers to Judge, no experience necessary.

Any trophy awarded would have just been a joke, so I decided just to enjoy the showing and talking to spectators.
the same thing I experience at non mopar only car shows. My 66 Hemi charger, NEVER get anything at shows. ALWAYS somthing the "judges" dont like. Like your missing fire extinguisher.

Yeah, a bunch of us were laughing and saying stuff like "Do the tires have vintage 1969 air?"

Yessir, I bought 6 cans of NOS '69 air last week and had them all refilled. If you sniff the valve stem you can smell people talking about Vietnam...

Idiots. :BangHead:

Good morning, folks!

Looks like you had a nice show, Dave. Great looking car!

Doesn't the General Lee start to feel a little old, though?

Morning gentlemen (and ladies). Not that ladies are afterthoughts, please don't read anything it that. It's just that there would be very few women on here and I would, in the main, be addressing men. Not undressing men, that's not how I roll.

I usually make my own coffee around here...my wife plays a lot of golf. I am a heterosexual. I wear my t-shirts loose.

This is my first post in this thread, I reckon it went pretty well.

@Mr Gorsky ....your avatar reminds me of one of my old avatars of my car on ice.

I see yours is a 72 with 70/1 hood scoops, is it a demon or swinger?

I dunno .....Laila my 75 dart has a 318 in it. Someone already V8 swapped it for me but it came to me missing the intake manifold and carb/ air cleaner

So the engine was sitting missing an intake for quite some time. There was a plastic bag over it and it doesn't look bad.

The previous owner told me the engine ran fine before someone robbed the carb and intake, who knows how long ago.

I am tempted to clean it up and slap my 360 intake and TQ/ air cleaner on it and see if it runs. Worse case, I would be out an intake gasket set. Best case, the previous owner is telling me the truth and I get it running while I build the 360.

nice - welcome finally :poke:
My ol' buddy Ray at HalifaxHops tells me some o' the boys've been after him to be after me to get on here ever since Lift Day I, and here it is the day after Lift Day II so I guess time has come today. It's like I always say to the wife, I guess: I told you I'm gettin' to it; ya' don't have to nag me every 6 months.

Anybody got a photo of my car from Lift Day I that I can use for my avatar?

cool stuff - they look fairly heavy yea?
Hey Keith @zkx14 , here's the wok with horseshoe handles. I still need to 'flapwheel' it and then it's season and get to cooking..View attachment 1714934561

welcome - coffee is always on in here - well said Fred...

question is : would a factory cast iron 360 intake fit on a 318 .....I dunno, never worked with a small block to the capacity of swapping parts. ????

Would a TQ made for a 360 be too much for the 318???

oh - the car isn't running? I would take the chance - like you said, worst case - you waste a little time and it has to come apart ...you may however get a happy surprise and have a running car in just a couple of hours..

that intake will bolt right on - not the best match due to port sizes, but it will work - TQ is what 500cfm? (I don't remember)
whoa - looked it up - probably an 800cfm...

it has gas and grocery recipts suggesting the car was alive and running as late as summer 2012.

so prolly 4 years of not running.

For 5 bills I figured the 318 was junk but I figured the car was worth 5 even not running. it sure makes up for it with the lack of rust IMO

how would you verify a carb rebuild kit is the right one ......rock auto shows STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS 676A

but they don't specify carb numbers to verify what this kit is exact fit to.

Hey, welcome! Better entrance than mine, for sure!

Good morning Rani!

I had a really hard time knowing which kit to get for my the Holley 600 I sold. I wouldn't trust Rock Auto's search system to find it for me. I'd simply call Jeg's or Summit.
