Well I finished welding in the quarter patches and trunk. Very little drama so far. Through a little primer on it for now till I start bodywork. Now the fun begins. Gonna start the driveline work. My plan is to take the tunnel out of the Chrysler 300,and transplant it into the duster. Should work perfect since I am using the nag1. So I guess next step is to strip down the Chrysler, get all of my tunnel and shifter parts out and swapped over. Then start the motor ,and trans install. I will posts some more pics tomorrow.

Gotta guy built me a harness to run the stock TCU with my holley terminator engine harness. Only other thing is to send my drive shaft guy some measurments, and I am good to go

Finished installing driver front fender, and welding some tabs on the front to screw the valiant headlight bezels to. So that finishes up the exterior changes. Outside is now ready for bodywork, and paint. Had some fun with rear bumper. Used the original rear mounts,but took all the shock absorber parts out leaving an empty tube that I could slide some pipe in. I took the inner structure out of the bumper leaving the shell,and welded the pipe to it. After a little resizing I now have a tucked bumper that is way lighter looks better ,and just slides into place

Well got the motor ,and trans test fitted this week. Used TTI motor mounts that I got from schumaker racing. Made my own bracket for the crossmember to hold up the trans. Had to do some tunnel trimming, but I am planning on putting the tunnel from the chrysler 300 in the car so I will be doing a lot more modifications inside soon. Here are some pics of the motor,trans mocked up in the car.

Planning on dropping the whole setup out the bottom now. I know what all my clearances are under the hood,and under the floor. Now I can finish building headers,and the tunnel. Next time I see it in the car the underhood area will be painted. Can't wait

So who would have known that a chrysler 300 tunnel would fit so nicely in a duster. OK so it took a couple hours of trimming, and it is only tech screwed in right now but you get the idea. I even made sure the original heat, air box still fits. And I fitted the chrysler center console,and shifter. They look like factory fit parts.

So sorry for the pause. With SEMA being canceled the duster got pushed off for customer work ,but I did manage to get some time this week to fit her in for a minute.
So I managed to drop the drive train, and k member out the bottom of the car so I could finish the engine work as well as get the tunnel,and engine compartment finished ,and painted. Finished up building the driverside header today. Just needs to be painted. Going to build passenger side, and ac brackets next week. Here are some pics. Post more next week.

So another slow week. The a/c compressor I bought was cracked,and leaking so I had to get another one on its way. I ran out of welding gas, but more is coming on Monday. The starter I need is back ordered,and I forgot to order header gaskets. However with all that said I did manage to paint the passenger side header, mount the dipstick, build the bracket for the sanden sd7 compressor, build a dust shield for the trans,and get all the tierod ends,and steering parts painted,and replaced. Here are some pics. Hopefully this next week will kick a little more ***.

So this week I got the tunnel welded up. I stripped the engine bay to bare metal. Welded up all the extra holes. Prime sanded and I painted it all orange. Looks fantastic!

While waiting for paint to dry I managed to finish the passenger side header, and make some heat shielding for the starter. We even laid out some of the wiring,which spawned a few questions. Need to find out where a few things plug in.(map,and mat on intake.) Also found out I have the wrong coil harness. Gonna call holley ,and figure it all out. Anyway here are some more pics, if NY one has pics of what there map,and, mat solutions were that would be great.

This is an awesome built, really nice work. I am going to be doing a 71 Charger with a 5.7 and a 833 4spd hopefully soon (have to get some client stuff done). I was really interested to see you paint the motor, doesn't seem like a big deal but most of the 5.7's you see are black (stock color). I am going to through a 392 cam and valve springs in my crate 5.7; provides about another 50+ HP and easy/cheap enough to do.

I watched the Summit video and heard you saw that you were thinking about going Pro charger, I am sure that would be an interesting ride at that point.

I will be happy to see the Charger built as well LOL. I was doing my 70 Roadrunner (426 with a 4 spd) but put it on hold for the Charger because it is so clean metal wise. It also came from the south, NM for awhile and then AZ, very little rust but unlike your car mine is completely disassembled.

So another battle won on the bustle knuckle duster. She is now on all four again. Had some work to do,and some plans had to be changed but the good guys triumphed. So the booster had to be moved. Made a bracket and welded an extension on the pedal. Had to modify the passenger side header to clear tortion bar. Had to bend ideler arm on steering to clear starter. Made shims for under motor mounts to fix remaining problems. Should have column, and sway bar in next. Here are some pics. Heavy lifting almost behind us on this one HuAhhh!

So the duster moved back into showroom for awhile to get some paying work done,and wait for some parts. I installed the flaming river column. Which is supposed to be a direct replacement. First off it doesn't have an ignition switch WTF. Gonna mount a switch in the dash, I guess. Like the feel of that better anyway. Next it is not the correct diameter it is a 2". Third which is not fr problem is that in the stock location it would hit the head so I moved it over 3/4 of an inch. Modified the firewall mount. Ordered a double joint from summit. Borgesson makes them for about 120 dollars. So I am waiting for the joint to have steering. The brake kit I got from right stuff came with a cheap adjustable prop valve so I ordered a fixed disc/disc one from summit that will mount under the master. Still need to pick a steering wheel,and get driveshaft made. Also install the tanks inc. Gas tank,finish exhaust and plum every thing. Then she will be ready for interior mods,and paint.
