Might start hunting for valve covers tall enough to avoid unwanted metal to metal contact.

Famoso Raceway has a couple of Nostalgia events coming up in the next few weeks. 1 ANRA Nationals 10/8-10 and Hot Rod Reunion 10/22-24. Nitro cars at the Reunion :D

same hot rod shop has m/t valve covers too and NOS ISKY solid lifters
Dont know if i would be snappin in a bunch of hot rod stuff until i ran engine for a while. Buddy bought a 350 once, paid too much and it started smoking days after he got it running. The guy that sold it gave it the motor medic treatment. Ran good, but didnt test drive it.
The two engines i bought both had low miles on them.

just sayin. First stomp on the skinny pedal could be disasterous.

Solid, or solid roller? Might want to look into a hydraulic roller, most solid roller lifters need to be bushed to get oil to the rockers.

Oh yeah, I need pushrods, new springs, timing chain, cam,etc... I just needed to put these on to see if they fit. If they didn't I wouldn't of bought them. since they do, they are MINE. I am going to put the stock stuff back on until I have all that.

ok, nevermind. I guess I will be using the new 1.5 rockers. I was just putting the stock ones back on with a BRAND NEW click type torque wrench. Read the instructions three times, followed it to a T. Set it to 17ft.lbs, then started to torque the rocker shaft down. The damn thing didn't click and kept going until the rocker studs broke. Two of them just snapped. (got the whole thing out) Should of trusted my instincts and stopped tightening where I thought 17 ft. lbs should be. Stupid. myself and the BRAND NEW TORQUE WRENCH!

That's why I don't use a torque wrench on much other than rod and main bolts and head bolts.

Last time I used mine was on the oil filter adapter, I believe it was 50 lbs on the big nut if I remember right, I read so many members leaking around the large gasket, preposition and setting it was a beeAch..

It's going to take sergury on my wrists to fix all the bone spurs and damage done to them in my life time, left one first she said, then move to my right ankle.
She said I am a happy fellow with every going on with me, and blood pressure is near perfect for my age. I said see what being happy and make smiles does for our heath :D. She said the exray tec said I am a good paitant, 9 exrays today, am glowing in the dark you wounder  I am not going outside to find out

Rest well everyone, memikie is going to the sports room for a good night's sleep

Yep. Still here. Imo torque wrenches do not work well on small values. Unless it is a good one...
I convert 17 foot lbs to inch lbs and use a smaller series torque wrench. I have $1000 worth of torque wrenches. 2 inchies, 2 footies..

Good Morning all you MOPAR lug nuts...time for some java!!
