Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yeah... it was a little different back then but met some really great people. They would fix you a meal in their home. I really started liking roasted goat right off the spit...and this one restaurant would cook an amazing green pepercorn steak.
I plan to go back and see what it has become

Sad. We
You could run a mobile Mechanic business...

""Department of Automotive Corrections"

Pull into the pits at the local track of choice and half the pit crews and spectators head for cover
Haha

speaking of tracks, I guess one of the venues for both Hot Rod Power Tour and the Hot Rod Drag Week got a surprise bid from a subdivision developer that greatly exceeded their selling point. So May 28th, Memphis dragway shuts down and changes ownership. Leaving hotrod and the NHRA and others scrambling.

Phoenix got killed as well with highway construction. Sprawl is enveloping the tracks that used to be "way out of town"

Sad but true. Growing up on LI we had a summer house/bungalow on the bay. used to be all potato fields now all of it million dollar mini ranches with 2 acres. Sad

Probably need to make a point of patronizing the local track to support them. They're not a money maker for certain

Our circle track sits without a schedule due to the recent owner change that tried to overstep the permits that were in place since the 60s. It's not really suited for development of anything and on top of that there is this issue of the property being declared a "Federal Wetland" after it was built in the 60s. No permanent structures are allowed other than what is there already.

Yes we found exactly what we needed and was surprised how dam heavy those thing were.
If you think they are heavy now, wait till they are full of potting soil, and like furniture wants to move them a dozen times for just the right spot. :poke:
Suggest you get a strong hand truck.
PRO Tip: Unless you are actually putting a small tree in them, you probably don't need all that dirt. The wife likes oversized pots. But usually putting flowers in that don't need more than 3-6 inches of soil. She fills the bottom with pieces of styrofoam.

Good Morning

Yeah. And now a days, it’d cost a fortune to build a new track

Even then you'd never get past the environmentals.

Current generation are street racers.
National Trail Raceway sold last year, most of their parking is now gone, I’m curious to see just how long the track holds on.

Well, as I impatiently wait on motor mounts... getting the rear wheel cylinders taken care of.

Drums came off very easily... few bumps with a rubber mallet and out.

Interesting things inside to included a mud wasp nest and cobwebs...:wtf:

Left side adjuster cable had rusted through and just fell out when I pulled the drum. Had a spare one in the salvage drawer so a win there.

Interesting side note. No LH thread wheel studs on the car

Speaking of stadiums, saw they tried to burn down Mile High Stadium in Denver the other day.
No? But I did see Toronto Raptors had their PA system try to burn down the stadium last night while they were playing
