Any 10 second "All Throttle" 318's in door cars ?

-
My 318 went 11.70s in street/strip Duster, i drove it to the track, 9.4 comp 10 inch conv Edelbrock heads no work done to them, if i work on the car more, i could have gone 11.50s, the same car with a iron headed 360, after i did work on the car, went 10.60s, i think with some compression and a good cam and gear. A 318 would be able to run 10s no problem.
Love your Duster, by the way!

As I posted above, this engine would be a collaboration of mostly "parts on hand". I don't care how street friendly it is just so it does run on pump gas.
Crank up the cr, port the heads and a healthy cam should go a long ways towards your goal.

my memory ..... :realcrazy:
I think the OOTB SM SB heads flow around 260 @ .550 lift ..... ??
:realcrazy:

But really is the cylinder head choice for most of these type builds be trick flow or ported eddy or similar, people act like 318 will need something like port W8 and trick nacar level build for 450-500hp I don't get it.
But really? Are you serious? OK, so you have a price tag attached to 12-1 - 318 pistons?
As I said, pistons and heads are the pricey ones.
What was the point of your reply? Seems like splitting hairs to me.
$945 Edelbrock heads (That IMO will need a spring change for a hood cam!)
PLYMOUTH Edelbrock 60779 Edelbrock Performer RPM Cylinder Heads | Summit Racing
$897 .060 forged w/rings & .140 dome
They’re not 12-1!!!!!
ICON IC845KTD.060 ICON Premium Forged Piston and Ring Kits | Summit Racing

A big whopping $48 difference. I don’t think you’ll get springs so $48 cheap ether. They’re both expensive and to make note of the difference is silly. Then a nice carb ain’t cheap ether.

I had a stock stock 360 with W2 heads. It ran 10.20 at 130. Hughes SFT, 10.8:1 compression.

I can’t see a 318 not being able to crack the 10’s

The more this thread goes on, the more I think I will put together the 318. I won't set an ET goal, or the likes. Just see what a combo of parts will do .....

Exactly! Have fun, screw a goal, just have run and work on the slip without care or concern of what it is “supposed to do” and enjoy.

When I threw the 360 together, I was hoping for a 11.0 and ending up with 10.20 so don’t give up hope!

Let the wife drive, she's probably .5 better, I know mine is. lol

Would you catch up with da times ????? :D My wife and I did that at the dragway with the "Van of War". I was a hundredth quicker (15.85 vs 15.86) but she was .01 faster mph :D :D

I could have two equally prepped cars and the wife would be faster, even if she wasn't.
I make sure the wife is in front of me. never behind.
