You don't understand, he want's the heads to use in the MI project.. You won't be getting them back.
I am getting too low on parts.... I've given too much away already. Now "I" have "wanted" adds up .... go figure :D

Better not show them the 318 heads I have with welded and raised roof with 2.02 valves.......
I like the 'teener port form better, & I'm definitely not above or against welding, but what does that have to do with the subject project?? Servedio/DV/Wood are not breakin' out the nickle rod or the spray welding ****, (DV prefers epoxy anyways), so this has turned into the same regurgitated pissin' match for like the 30th time.

The usual cast will try to imply that they are some kind of exotic super stock heads now and are gonna cost 5k to replicate and don't even resemble a ported 302 head.

The quiky port flows what again.......

1) That did not address the question
2) It failed to refute My assertion.

Which question? those implicit or explicit? Or better yet those that will no doubt arise out of the current direction this thread has taken.

What have you asserted? Or maybe inserted is more correct?

All you’ll get is a whole load of buckshot.

His claim to fantastical HP from a cylinder head that NO serious head porter would TOUCH (and by serious I mean someone who gets paid to build horsepower and not some dude that has a fetish of turd buffing junk to try and prove how smart he is) unless the rules forced it.

I can weld cast iron. I used to do it all the time. Now, no F’ing way. If I have to weld a CI head for repair or power I move on to a better casting.

Cost matters. Horsepower per dollar is FAR more important to me that finding an extra .25 HP/CFM.

I learned a very valuable rule when I needed to get paid to make horsepower. I haven’t forgotten it.

Just because you CAN doesn’t mean you SHOULD.

And this whole MI build is an example of violating that rule. Who in their right mind will spend that kind of time on connecting rods when you can buy a damn good rod with 7/16 cap screws, a better beam design and better material?

As someone who spent YEARS reducing Bob weights, profiling cranks and looking for any way to save some horsepower I can tell you that there is FAR more HP in a GOOD windage tray AND a QUALITY crank scraper than all that profiling and **** ever will.

That falls under the just because you can rule.

Uhmm, the question, if You can follow.., is what does bringing up welded ports have to do with the MI heads?
I have asserted that bringing that into the conversation is simply to resume the now tiresome pissing match You've brought to every thread concerning this topic. As this is Your thread, it is Yours to piss in, but really You've almost reduced Yourself to a 10yr old shouting "SEE!!! SEE!!!"

Someone who's looking to generate 28 pages of useless opinions on a website. ?

Way more FACTS in this thread than opinions.

Go back and read it. It was called early on there would be mission creep. FACT.

It was called early on that the MI build would be FAR more expensive with all the stupid limits put on it. FACT.

It was called early that UT would dump the project off on DV/AW and he would slide off into the mists of the internet and when it fails he will claim it wasn’t his plan. FACT. He’s already in hiding.

I could go on, but you get the point.

What does that have to with a tiny port that flows 220 cfm with a stock valve?

I don't know about St Judes, but I think when they sell the engine, they should give the money to Charles.
By the looks of it, all he has is a flowbench, a die grinder, some old valve cutting stones and a can of marking dye.

That is was a colossal waste of time, effort and money.

I could EASILY make more power for less of all of the above.

Like I said, for you this is a dick measuring contest because your thinking is skewed.

That's funny both you guys have had name changes for bans i would imagine...........

Don't need you to do anything as my junk gets 11/32 Ferrea's with under cut stems so I know what happens when you go to a smaller valve stem. Last time I looked it was 2023 and why the hell would you bother using a 3/8 valve unless you cant afford a decent valve to start with.
And a decent head. Oops

The guy has a ton of time and effort for very little gain.

He did ask for some help today. He doesn’t have a S&G machine and doing a 50 degree seat is a ***** w stones. Plus he can’t do the guides for the LS valves.

Once again, those small stem valves won’t make a single HP. That’s stupid to spend that money to get NOTHING in return.

Still.. all useless, when clicks are the mission, of this mission impossible.

Exactly......
I'll leave You & Your brain alone, so You can keep mentally circle-jerking in peace.

Ummm.......its 28 pages in and now you want to play forum god and moderator?

I get that. But who in their RIGHT mind would start with THAT casting when you don‘t need to?

If this was YOUR project would YOU with that casting?
I get that. But who in there right mind would give a **** what David Vizard starts with..............He must be spending your money.
