I have plans for one as soon as I'm done building cars...so pretty much never ganna happen.
Here is a link to some pics of my buddy Marks annual "melt the rear tires off the bikes" birthday party. Mark is the big ugly guy with the long F**ked up hair. He builds his own bikes frames and all. He got pulled over and didn't have a MC licence (2 years after he started building/riding and took the test on a 9' chopper, he said that the cone test was the hardest part.

I didn't make it to his birthday this year but Def Charlie did and took a bunch of pics.

That is not a beginners bike

RESPECT it for what it is, it can KILL YOU and any passengers quickly.

Keep this in mind every time you get on it. Be prepared at all times for someone to pull out in front of you, an animal or child to run out in the road or the loose gravel or wet roads.

Wear the safety gear needed. Take the ABATE program.

NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOU KNOW remember it CAN KILL YOU!

Had friend killed on his 350 Honda, he was on his way to work and coming up on small rise in the road, car coming the other way at estimated 100+ hit him, car was airborne, bike or car he probably would have ended up same way. But I have had many friends go down and hurt.

I have been riding since 1964 on something, starting with brothers RUPP mini bike

Mom had a Honda trail 90 I got to ride

my 1st was a 60cc CHIBI

Bought brothers 73 Honda SL 350 (would like to find another like it)

Trade it for a new 1977 Honda 750 K

Bought a honda 350 4 in Wikiki

sold it and got a Kaw 350 Triple (The most fun I ever had on 2 wheels) wish I could have brought home with me

Currently have a 1986 Honda 1200 Goldwing that looks like it came out of the Markland catalog

I still enjoy riding, but it bothers me more in traffic and when dark. Never have liked riding in the rain and hate gravel roads or gravel on paved roads

Push the limits and it might push back and bite you in the A**

Cars and Trucks will always win

Remember it can KILL YOU

But also it can give you much pleasure, just be careful and don't ride faster than your gaurdian angle can fly

I agree with everything WildCat said. I have been riding for over 40 years everything from solid frame mini bikes to late model sport bikes. I had my last bike up to a couple years ago.

An elderly lady decided to turn right from the left lane while my son and I occupied that space!! I locked up the rear tire and was sliding sideways while staring at the approaching side of her car!! Somehow by the grace of God, we didn't collide but that was enough to scare me. It would have been bad enough if I was hurt and couldn't provide for my family, but if my 12 year old son would have been injured, I would never have been able to forgive myself. I sold it shortly thereafter.

Bottom line. Enjoy your bikes but be careful. There are people at home that are waiting for your safe return.

I bought a 96 Ninja ZX-6 from a friend of mine. Right now the bike is apart. The motor is at the bike shop getting checked over, reringed, and valve seals. The frame and other parts are getting powder coated. The fairings are all primed and ready for paint. I will put it altogether and then take it apart again to paint the fairings.

Back in 95 I bought a Honda CBR 600 off the showroom floor. I drove everywhere on that thing until I let a friend borrow it. He about killed himself. I let the insurance company have it. I will be back riding however not to long from now. The top pic is the bike being rescued the bottom picture is what it looks like together. I will do some custom work however to change it up a bit.

You guys really need to get your nomenclature straight! A "bike" IS NOT a mtorcycle! Real men ride bicycles and are in top shape. What kind of guys ride motorcycles? I won't say. I don't want to offend anyone.

Wow, if you really have one, I should think you'd know how to spell "Merckx"!

Yeah. Say, I'll tell you what: let's have a bicycle race and see who's in better shape, OK?

Awesome bike man. I was out last Sunday on the "Snake" what an awesome day of riding. This weekend is just as nice but warmer. See you out on the twisties.

Those damn belgians and their last names. Yeah I own one - Lotto Domo Team SC to be exact. Look it up. One of the best bikes I've ever raced with. Don't make me bust out the embarassing pics of the one piece cycling suit and turd helmet. I'd never hear the end of it. :bootysha:

Thank You. The Moto Guzzi is a sweetheart of a bike.

The Pic of me and the Guzzi was taken on The "Snake" about 5 - 6 turns before reaching the Lookout...:glasses2:

I usually ride farther down south; Palomar, Highland Valley, Old Julian road. Mostly because I find that the Roads in San Diego County are both less crowded and much less patrolled by the CHP..

Cool. I'm in Ventura so I cruise and bicycle the Ojai Hwy 33 quite a bit. Not too much BLUE on the 33 either. I love that road. Very little debris and smooth pavement. The Hwy 150 around Lake Casitas is nice too.

Would be cool to get a FABO cruise going

Mike,
that is a lovely moto guzzi classic you got there!

Cuz i dont know too much about them,
how much power does it have?
An how much does it weigh?

Its a lovely looking bike!

I've had some work done on the top end of my Guzzi's engine (heads ported/ polished, bored out cyls, larger carbs) and it has aftermarket BUB pipes, so power is up a bit from stock..probably around the 70 - 75HP mark (stock is about 60 - 65 HP, depending on who you talk to... 8) ). It weighs in at around 540 Lbs.

Mike, did you buy the bike like that or did you restore it?
It F*** looks brand new!!!!

Just so you know,i saved the pic as
* mint guzzi *

;)

Nah; at the wheel, it probably around 55 HP or so, due to HP loses in the shaft drive...

It sounds real good (to me.. )

People tell me that it has an engine tone like a NASCAR-ish V8...only smaller. 8)

I bought it restored and then went added a few thing on my own..I went with Agostini Rear Sets, timing gears, SS brake lines, race plate clutch, lightened Flywheel, etc..

It is a hoot to ride. For a motorcycle its size it handles real well. It really shines in the fast sweepers such as Angeles Crest Highway and the tighter stuff such as found Glendora Mountain Road (GMR is my favorite LA County road). I also like Yerba Buena (above Neptunes Net), Decker, Latigo, Pium and Las Flores, near the Rock Store..

I've also taken it on Track Days at Streets of Willow and it held its own there against Ducatis and Aprilias...in the tight stuff...

On the straights, they blew by me as if I was standing still...:-D

I fitted Pirelli Sport Demon tires and they stick pretty good.

Ive hear of willow, but not the other places...
Im from australia hahah :toothy10:

i posted a pic of my bike earlier in the thread, black 07 hayabusa.
Notbad, does its job without complaints so im happy with it haha.

'Busas are cool..! The Hayabusa would probably the bike I would buy if I wanted a more modern Motorcycle.

BTW, I've owned a few Japanese bikes. My first bike ever was a 1973 Yamaha R5 (2-stroke - 350cc,) Cafe Racer style.

Currently, besides the Moto Guzzi, I have this 1979 Kawasaki KZ1000, which I modified to look like the Bikes in the First MAD MAX movie.

I got the fairing in Australia, from an outfit called Replico, in SW Australia..

I also had this 1982 Honda CB900F foir a while

And last, this pic of me on the Guzzi at Sreets of Willow"
