A flipper/scammer gets busted

Tony's a good guy. I bought a few parts from him on FABO when he was selling here. One time he sent me some headliners Bows that were wrong. He did not even ask for them back but sent the correct ones on his dime. Not a large ticket item but the honesty says a lot.
I like that he's always got a lit smoke in his hand. I'm a smoker too, so that probably influences that a bit.. but I like the fact that he doesn't try to hide it, because it's such a taboo these days. More like 'this is me, don't like it, don't watch' kind of attitude, and I like that.

After seeing the first vid, I had to check my car..with a feeling of dread. The dash vin, radiator support, and title all match.. whew. I knew the dash vin did match the title when I bought it. All I found in the trunk in that spot was a part number. I read another thread on here where a guy had the same problem, just have to keep looking, but it makes me feel better that the others match.

If you check with your local DMV or highway patrol it's probably illegal to switch engines and trans with out doing some legal paperwork and re title.. some states are more strict than others. Start scraping boys and girls.
Not here in WV on engines.
Vin tags on old cars, yes.
Before you can title a old car in your name it requires a vin number inspection from a police officer. And they do check the extra vins. Just went thru this on a 70 cuda I bought.
The car in question would have been towed away to impound if you tired to title it in WV.

It’s not illegal to sell vin numbers, but attaching the vin to an automobile that originally did not come with that vin is.
Sorta like hooking is not illegal; but if a cop catches a hooker with a john,, or a female cop posing as a hooker takes money from a john, said John is guilty; go figure.

I have no experience with that perhaps you could tell us more.

I just need to know where hooking is not illegal, and what I can get for the $7.28 I got in my pocket.

Parts of NV unless it's changed................You never heard of the (then) "Chicken Ranch?"

Nevada, $7.28 will get you some funky that will have nasty side effects.

Well after seeing all this. I guess about 90percent of us better start crushing our own. Since we all have cars rebuilt from multiple vehicles..

That is not the issue here at all. The ISSUE is that someone BOLTED a dash frame from a different vehicle with the title to that dash into the car that is for sale. That is, of itself is a FEDERAL crime unless properly documented

Search the stolen 70 hemi cuda and you might get what a "deal" it is.

I'm not going all the way to $7.28... maybe $4.21 and we got a deal.

I can't believe he was interested in buying the car at 8K! Once I figured out at was a re VINed 73 to a 71, I would have got in my car and left. This video would only be about 5 minutes long.

you cant touch the exhaust on a newer car her in CA. Everyone does but its technically illegal.

I don't believe he was offering eight grand to purchase the vehicle, at that point he was just playing with the guy one last time before he departed the scene.

It's also illegal FEDERALLY and has been since 1968....to remove ANY emissions equipment, modify it, or render it inoperative or ineffective....it's just that there's not really anyone to enforce it at the individual vehicle level.

By the way Pishta, I got caught when I was stationed in CA by a roadside emissions trap. Go around a curve, and "there they are."

Got nailed in Colorado in my Work Truck.Boss wasn't happy with them.

Aloha, No Emissions test in Hawaii !! We got safety checks but that's just the simple stuff .

Ahhh Uncle Tony's Garage. I watch it pretty regularly as a comedy show. He's the poor man's Mark Worman. He's an expert on everything Mopar, just ask him. I knew that he was full of crap when he wanted to argue with me that there's no value to putting sub-frame connectors in an A body. "It only adds weight and you WANT the body to flex during launch".

Yeah , that's about like Mark Worman saying on his show , that the factory 440 hi perf/ exhaust manifolds , that everybody threw away back in the day , " made as much power as real headers !"
