Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

Could not resist to put the intake on to see how tall this is....for sure i have to cut my velocity stack (Hood´s got a hole in it, six pack scoop).

    some progress.....

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

yeah, that´s true. They drilled the threads for the water neck too deep, directly into the water passage....not a huge problem, but not what i would expect also. Oh, i´ll work around as usual ;-)

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

oh, possibly have to shorten my velocity stack :D

Solid rollers with off set push rod hole issue.

looks like the lobe is not parallel to the roller axis....cam not grinded correctly? or due to lifter bore wear the offset creates a uneven force on the cam surface? Michael

Factory hydraulic roller set up on an older block?

The stock mopar hydraulic roller lifters are significantly taller, chrysler did not change the Block casting without a cause! I would not suggest using the stock HR Lifters in a LA Block designed for hydraulic flat tappet lifters. I´m curious if the recess in the lifter bore is there in the LA...

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

Thanks! No, i won´t change the cam for now....maybe later if there´s a upgrade of the short block. Still running a custom HR cam, but with SR lifters then. Cam is kinda small when compared to others (250 / 250 @ .050"), with the new T&D Rocker setup (1.7 intake / 1.65 exhaust) the intake lift is...

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

finally i my new parts arrived....i´m excited to put this stuff on and go testing :D We´ll see how that goes, hope to get some track time middle of June.

    Camshaft for 5.2 magnum

Oregon #1341 is a nice grind for a 5.2. Powerful and smooth driving, been there done that. Michael

Does this prove David Vizard's 128 lsa formula ?

i read a book from DV, got convinced regarding the LSA theory. Had comp grind me a camshaft with 108°LSA instead of the common 110° - bingo, new best ET by quite a bit. All of the tests with somewhat "limited" cylinder heads show gains when reducing the LSA up to a certain point. One day i´ll...

    SB Stroker Intake Choices

Isnt the Indy different bolt pattern than stock LA? I think so.....so this would not be a bolt on deal anyways for the OP. Michael

Oil Filter location 318 69 Valiant

to make things easy: there´s no need to use the 90° Adapter. Even with headers it will work with a small Filter like WIX 51085.

    TF & Speedmaster Flow Tests

don´t think so. It was an option from mopar (P4876310 for example) a while back with offset Intake rockers....not very popular. Michael

    More intake development

thanks for the information, interesting stuff for sure. 3D-Printing is cool technology for prototyping! Michael

What do you guys think about these heads

question: what makes a head "moved centerline"?

Small block + 4 speed build

in this case a wider LSA is possibly the better solution. Less "peaky" torque production. I also would prefer the TrickFlow single plane intake over the air gap.....especially with the rpm band you expect. Regarding the pistons: i run hypereutectic KB356 with good results, but strictly no...

Thanks for sharing! Great that John will give us his opinion to this new product. I like the design!

    Magnum Roller Lifters

ok, who´s got more.....;-))) .620" Lift, no trouble at all. As said before 6900 -7000 rpm trough the traps. Michael

    Magnum Roller Lifters

i use stock replacements for quite a while.....10.5x car, 7000rpm runs - without a hiccup! So i´d suggest a set of melling stock replacement lifters JB-2225. Michael

Be careful putting these engines together

like a ducati? Desmodromic Valve train :D

Be careful putting these engines together

what a dumb mistake, the one who built it must be pretty ignorant....is the rod also in wrong? Michael
  23. 360duster

Sounds like a nice little engine.

what pushrod diameter do they use in such builds? And why is it that some builders use offset in the intake lifter, some say it´s a no go? I think it´s a good idea to straighten out the geometry a little.....or is it done only for pushrod clearance? Michael
  24. 360duster

Cams , pushrods , roller, hydraulic

if you use a flat tappet hydraulic cam in the roller cam block you can´t use the pushrods that came with the block....the hydr. roller lifters are much taller, so they need a shorter pushrod. Michael

so remove the springs to bottom out the plunger in the lifter body? and remove the spring in the internal check valve also?
