Removing glued on carpet, any tips?

The Heat gun may very well work. I guess you would not care if the carpet got damaged. You could also try steam. You might be able to rent a steam cleaning machine.

    Instrument panel 1968/69 barracuda

@Stanley parsons may not like this, but I do not care. I grow increasingly tired of reading a long run-on sentence with poor grammar and no punctuation that makes little or no sense. First, there is way more than just a lack of punctuation at fault. The whole thing makes little sense due to...

    69 cuda dash

I assume you are talking about the plastic instrument panel and plastic piece that goes on the glove box door like in the first two pictures of post #10. I had mine professionally restored about 15 years ago, but before that they were painted for about 10-12 Years. It took a lot of masking but...

    Trunk access 69 barracuda

If not, you can do what I have done. Using a 3/8" or 1/2" drill bit, drill out the trunk lock. then you can use a flat blade screwdriver to pop open the trunk.

Painting Cloth Headliner. Tips or Suggestions ? ?

I'll give you my $0.02 worth. You certainly can paint your headliner, but it is very different that painting door panels. The headliner is porous, so the paint will have a tendency streak. You will want to spray in light coats with a cross pattern to help eliminate the striping. Plus, you are...

Pg Classic Rallye steering wheel question.

I see what you are saying about the screw size. I seem to remember just taking the old one off and putting the new one on. It was only about a year ago. I am pretty sure that all the screws/machine bolts I took off the old wheel fit on the new one. I don't remember having to scrounge any new...

Pg Classic Rallye steering wheel question.

Are you talking about the '260-69W Mopar 1966-69 A,B,C-Body Rallye Woodgrain Steering Wheel'? I bought one for my 69 Barracuda, and it was a direct replacement. I did not need to do anything. If that is not the wheel you meant, you'll need to be a bit more specific.

    Fastback Barracuda Folding Rear seats-damaged?

I had a 69 Barracuda FB back in 69. I used to fold down the back seat all the time. But this is a family site, so I won't go into any more details. :icon_fU::icon_fU:

Anybody receive seat covers from Legendary or Classic Industries lately?

I am just curious. I always had superior service and great quality parts from them. Would you mind sharing what happened?

Tear in my seat cover. What can I do?

@cruiser, it is hard to tell from the picture, but maybe it can be fixed to look OK and last a while. Maybe not, but why not try. I have followed a lot of your posts and have gotten the impression that you can do quite a bit. Taking the upholstery material off the seat bottom is actually quite...

Has anyone installed more modern bucket seats in their A Body??

I have long been considering installing more modern bucket seats in my 69 Barracuda. I don't want install anything that would look out of place. I just want a more comfortable seat that is 6 way power that would recline. I thought I could have them recovered in a manner that would somewhat match...

    Gauge bezel restoration or replacement?

Like Steve said, it will likely cost quite a bit to have it restored. I sent mine in a few years ago to a place I found on Ebay, and they did an amazing job for about $500. However, about 15 years before that i did it myself, and it looked pretty darn good. Krylon Satin Black for the black...

    PG Classics Upholstery

It was about 25 years ago that I put the Legendary seat covers in. Like I said, they are still awesome. I do not have any direct experience with PG or PUI interiors, but I have seen them at car shows, both for sale and on a car, and they are not Legendary. @dibbons makes a good point. Have you...

    PG Classics Upholstery

I put Legendary seat covers and door panels in my 69 Barracuda about 25 years ago. they still look like new. The only person who can make the decision is you. IF you can afford the Legendary price difference, that is definitely what you should get. If you are OK with less quality and have...

    Fiberglass over our plastic panels?

Pictures would be VERY helpful. From what I gather, you have one sail panel with an actual crack, and all the other plastic pieces only have superficial damage. If I am wrong, please correct me, but that is what you stated. First, for the hard plastic parts, body filler will work fine in the...

How Hard Is It To Do?

You can use a thin plastic bag. Place it completely over the foam of the bucket seat top. the 'softened by the sun cover will slide on easily. You need not remove the bag. Once you get the covers on tightly with hog rings, you will never know the plastic is still there. I have applied seat...

    Soda blasting interior panels?

I have had excellent luck with the finest grit glass beads I can get, cranking the pressure going to my blasting cabinet all the way down, and then increasing the pressure very slowly. Usually at about 15-20 PSI (measured close to the compressor about 25-30 feet away), the media will just barely...
