    Another trunk weatherstripping question

All I see on eBay are the solid rubber weatherstripping for the A body trunks. My '73 has the hollow weatherstripping, but needs to be replaced. Where can I get the hollow style trunk weatherstripping ? Thanks in advance Trevor

How well does dying seats work?

+X on the prep work. I think I used brake cleaner or acetone or something prior to using a 'vinyl dye spray' and it's held up pretty well for ~ 10 years. Every year I do 1-2 mins of touch ups and I am golden. Cheers and good luck !

    Defrost hoses needed

I've used an old Shop vac hose. I bought a new one at Home Depot for $20 and the old one worked fine. I think it was 2 1/2" diameter, so it fit insdie the dash vents and outside the small heater box outlet. I did have to cut and seal for the larger outlet. Cheers Trevor

    340 vs 360

Realest: Unless you are going for originality, do a 360. I've built 3-4 360s from almost junkyard parts: Use mid-late truck motors or cop mills as a starters and do some research to see what years had shot peened cranks and rods. A little bit of head work, careful cam selection, 4 bbl...

what carb should I use ?

Hey gang, I have my Duster on the road now and I am having carb issues. It goes like this: 360 4spd car 3:23 gears I am using a new-to me motor - 360 bored 060 thousandths. Old Aluminum Weiand DP intake that is set for square bore carb. I had a sweet running thermoquad on my previous...

73 Duster rear seat belt anchor bolts - what are they ?

Hey gang, I am putting the interior back in my 73 Duster and I see I am missing the nut that holds the passenger side rear seat belt retractor assemblt in place. It appears to be a fine thread, but I've tried every size nut I can find / think of and they are either too big or too small...

    73 Duster - mid life re-cap :)

mtn jake - it took about a year once I got serious. I changed the motor, replaced clutch, brakes, sway bar , power steering, springs, etc etc. You just have to decide you are going to finish it and devote some time. I have 2 little ones at home, so it can be hard to find the time ! Coyote...

    Rust Repair

My rule of thumb - if it hasn't folded in half - it is saveable. All I had to do were front floor pans in my 73 Duster, but once I had those out, I could see that it wouldn't be the end to half to replace the torsion bar crossmember, rear pans, etc. http://www.autorust.com/ is your friend :)...

    PS Question

Hey gang, I fired up the Duster after installing the PS and I have no power assist. My pump is from an 81 Lebaron that was working fine when removed. The box is the unknown element. There are no leaks. Fluid is moving somewhere, as I filled the pump reservoir twice while it was running...

    A body boy's

Halifax NS here too. Grew up in Northern NS though. When I first got my Duster, it developed a bit of a reputation up that way. I can't wait to finish my 'mid life recapitalization' and take it back there for a cruise >:) Anyway - nice to see a few bluenosers on here Cheers Trevor...

    Went through receipts today

*sigh* I have most of the receipts from my Duster - had it almost 15 years - but I won't add them up - I'm scared to see what it would be ;) I do keep all the receipts for all my cars. People seem to apprecaite it when it comes time to sell them - they can see that they were dilgently...

    360 from 76 Cordoba to 72 Demon

Hmm - should be ok. I *think* the only difference in 360 oil pans is the 'centre' and 'rear' sumps. Rear sumps were found on truck engines. Was the 360 that went in the charger out of a truck ? Good luck

Where to by Carpet kit ?

I also got a quote from NOS just yesterday - $185 + shipping, but it is the ACC carpet as well. So far, no one has had much luck with ACC, so I might try and hold out for a Trim Parts. Thanks for the feedback guys. Even though its a driver, I don't want carpet problems ina few years...

Where to by Carpet kit ?

Got a quote from Nationalmoparts - $195 + 20 or so shipping. It is the ACC carpet, so I might do a little research first on this fading thing. I think some other outfit in Ontario quoted me $230 a year or so ago...... Trevor

Where to by Carpet kit ?

Hey gang, I got approval from the Warden to buy a new carpet kit for the Duster. (Black w/ 4 speed) I would prefer to buy in Canada - but I would like to hear some experiences from other Canadians - where you found the best price / deal and comment on quality. This is for a 'driver' , so...

    Carpet underlay ?

Hey gang, I am getting ready to finish my floor work (new front floor plans) in the Duster and I will be ordering a carpet soon. However, she is a *tad* loud  I read an article in Canadian Classics (an issue that my 18mos old son has since destroyed) about a 'peel and stick'...
