I'm in phoenix on vacation now. Friday I went to check out Dart Bodies inc. First class staff and work. Anybody looking for a 70 dart? Anything to do with old cars is fun.
In Texas I think the car could bring $7,500. Maybe more if you posted some pictures. If the car is in Alaska i'm sure it would be worth more. If you are looking to buy it why not post the asking price?
You will need a different drive shaft and the slant 6 t- bars will work but might be better to swap in some bigger bars now if you want to do it right the first time.
If you are starting a project that includes perfomance upgrades such as 8 3/4 rear and more horsepower, then I would start by going thur your front end and also install new larger t-bars. Next make sure you have good brakes.
I don't think petty blue has much to do with the value. A 73 roller might be worth $1,000-$1,500. With a 318 and driving, maybe $4,500 if you do a nice job. I have a petty blue 73 duster complete car that i'll sell for $1,000. JMO
I think i have a rare 72 duster. It is a slant 6 with an 8 3/4 and k/h disc brakes, and that 1/2 vinyl top that looks like snake skin. This car MUST BE PRICELESS. But really i've never seen a /6 with small bolt disc brakes. Any comments welcome.
Just use a string line from the back of the rear tire to the front if the front tire. I set about 1/16 th inch toe end on each side by adjusting the tie rod ends. Do this without jacking the car and you will be good to go.
We had a cable drive rev limiter. (Early 70's) I had it off and working on it and when i put it back on, didn't notice the cable slipped out. Well you can guess the rest. Driver usually left with a popping of the limiter, but this time he left with a rod thru the block and 9 quarts of...
Waggin, i made swiss cheese out of a k member. Probably real dumb thing to do. Dick Landy used to drill out front spindles and Don Carlton milled 25 lbs off the sides of his block. Lots of little things add up.
73Abodee, thanks for posting that pic of THT racing
s 68 dart. They had two for a while. I was the mechanic / truck driver for three years. Wish i had saved some hemi parts
