yeah, that´s true. They drilled the threads for the water neck too deep, directly into the water passage....not a huge problem, but not what i would expect also. Oh, i´ll work around as usual ;-)

The stock mopar hydraulic roller lifters are significantly taller, chrysler did not change the Block casting without a cause! I would not suggest using the stock HR Lifters in a LA Block designed for hydraulic flat tappet lifters. I´m curious if the recess in the lifter bore is there in the LA...

to make things easy: there´s no need to use the 90° Adapter. Even with headers it will work with a small Filter like WIX 51085.

don´t think so. It was an option from mopar (P4876310 for example) a while back with offset Intake rockers....not very popular. Michael

i use stock replacements for quite a while.....10.5x car, 7000rpm runs - without a hiccup! So i´d suggest a set of melling stock replacement lifters JB-2225. Michael

what pushrod diameter do they use in such builds? And why is it that some builders use offset in the intake lifter, some say it´s a no go? I think it´s a good idea to straighten out the geometry a little.....or is it done only for pushrod clearance? Michael

if you use a flat tappet hydraulic cam in the roller cam block you can´t use the pushrods that came with the block....the hydr. roller lifters are much taller, so they need a shorter pushrod. Michael

ok, here we go. This is a stock Magnum / late LA hydraulic roller Lifter. These actually came with my LA roller cam block and i used these quite a while, then i replaced all of them with new mellings. So where to put shims to make it solid? any mod to the check valve in the plunger then necessary?

my intention is to use the existing HR Cam with a little more stiffer springs on a offset rocker head. New Lifters would be the best solution of course, but if possible i´d like to modify the existing HR-Lifters - to save some money. I´ll take some pics of a disassembled HR-Lifter, maybe we can...

Hi Guys, anybody successfully did this to the stock magnum HR lifters? If so, how is it done best? i think about precisely made inserts, no idea if such spacers need to be hardened or not....Thanks for input! Michael
