    Some ferd Dana 60’s were 5 lug, the tubes are thicker and the od of said tubes is 3.125. I just narrowed one for my buddy’s Duster (4 link) and I put in new gears, axles, power lok, etc. he’s got 1k in it.

    I just narrowed a Dana 60, gonna do my buddy’s Dana also. I have the tools and alignment jig for both the Dana and 8 3/4. If I was doing this as a business, you’d be looking at 2-300. Around here that’s what it would cost.

    I sold my 8 3/4 to my cousin, he needed it for his Dart/360/727 combo and I didn’t want to start breaking parts with my 470, just being cautious there. The Dana I completely did myself from cutting/narrowing/welding with a jig/setting up the gears. I have 1k in it and got 800 for the 8 3/4...

    Just tossing this out there........ferd 9 inch, the rear that is EVERYONES go to, uses a green type axle bearings and NO BODY says anything about them. HMMM!?

    I used his internals for a clutch type rebuild, and I like it. The single spline side gear is way stronger than the factory 2 piece design. You won't be disappointed.

    The "o ring" does the sealing so the inner seal really is not needed.

    I'm thinking the 63 Dart is a b body....they didn't become a bodies until 65 if memory serves correct. So the early 8 3/4 should bolt right in on the 63.

    That more than likely has a 2.76 ratio, 741 case, and the clutch sure grip case has left handed bolts on the pass. side brg. and there are NO springs in the case.

    Do some research, cause the 8 3/4 did come with factory rear disc's for 1 or 2 years, PERIOD!!!

    And yes, some 8 3/4's came from the factory with rear disc.....Imperial's, although rare as hens teeth and only a 2 year run if memory serves correct.
