    oil filter help

3-1/2" deep Wix filter on a 360 with TTI's on my '69 Dart. I can get my left hand on the filter with ease but I can barely grip the filter with my right hand. I use the socket style filter wrench to loosen it. Definetly not a lot of room and I've found out how "durable" the TTI ceramic coating...

    All Small blocks are anchors.........

I think I know what he means. Down in Baja (Mexico) it's common practice for the local fishermen to use one or two engine blocks to anchor the bouys for their boats in place. Maybe that's what he's talking about. As to where he went? Maybe down in Baja, fishing.

    360 or 340?

QUOTE= I will have to go back on the search for a 360. If I don't find one by the time I'm ready to build, I will just build the 318. Either way I'm going to eventually own 2 motors. I always like to have a back up. I have a friend who has a sellers/buyers license and attends auctions...

    1978 - 360 engine build

I just finished having a '77 360 out of a Cordoba built. Mine is a "smog" motor with cast iron "smog" heads. The build included: Block and heads hot tanked, mag'd, shot peened with both surviving the process but there was excess chamfer at the tops of the cylinders which, we found out, was...

    Too good to be true??

As stated above, check compression and check bearing tolerances. Racing motors are "loose", street motors are "tight".

Looking for 360 advice on a budget.

Depending on your definition of "budget" it has been my experience that you cannot build a reliable motor on a budget. My local engine builder is getting close to finishing a '77 360 I'm putting in my '69 Dart. I originally wanted to do a budget build but I was talked into getting deeper into...

Someone Please Make Up My Mind

My '77 360 block went to the machine shop/motor builder today, along with the stock crank, stock connecting rods, stock pistons, and stock '596 cast iron heads. The shop is going to clean and mag everything and then contact me for the build. I am staying with the stock crank, stock connecting...

    My new 360

I'm in the same boat, Nick M. I'm tearing down a '77 360 now and I also want to end up with more compression. I'll be looking for at least 9:1. If the block and heads check out OK (and I think they will) my crank and connecting rods are staying but will be balanced, the block will be square...
