Fuel Injection - explain this to me like I am 6 years old

I agree with the idea of fuel injection. The easy starting and ease of operation I guess is What I am looking at. But in the same instance my 273 commando will be left stock with the carburetor. I am spoiled driving newer cars though

    Fuel Lines

X 2. My Rubber lines were horrible. Very inexpensive repair. While you have those off, take the time and blow out the fuel line to insure there is no trash left. Will make a huge difference. While I was doing this, I noticed the tank itself had a small leak so I replaced this also. Good luck

    Fuel Tank question

The ethanol gas does a deal on carburetor's as well. Obviously you need a tank, but ethanol will evaporate leaving a mud like substance in the carb that will stop everything up

Ethanol free is becoming increasingly available in the North Carolina area I am in. Not sure if it is the farming season or what. It seems that I am seeing signs at a lot of stations

    cleaning fuel line

I disconnect the line from the tank and used air to blow back from the front. Before I replaced the tank and hoses I would blow back and you could here the fuel gurgle in the tank. Not any more. You can tell its stopped up somewhere.

    cleaning fuel line

I have replaced those with new, but thanks for the idea. Just looking in the wish book, What size lines would be in a 65 Barracuda Formula S. 5/16 or 3/8? Classic Industries have them for 58.99. I should have had these ordered with last weeks order so shipping would have been free. I believe...

    cleaning fuel line

Tank and filters are new. Fuel pump and rubber lines are new as well. Carb is rebuilt and running non ethanol gas. I'll disconnect it all Monday and blow out each piece and see if I can get it to flow. If not, I'll buy a new one. There not very expensive.

    cleaning fuel line

Is there a way to clean, or should I replace. 1965 Barracuda Formula S. Replaced the fuel tank, rubber hoses and fuel pump. I'm not getting any fuel to the carb. Disconnected the fuel line and tried to blow compressed air back toward the tank, but had no success, it seems to be stopped up...

    which grade fuel

I used a container. This is a small town in North Carolina with several small farms. IO guess they sell this for the tractors. Sure makes my lawn mower run better.

    which grade fuel

I found a local store that's carries regular leaded gas in all 3 grades. Which should I choose for a 65 Barracuda Formulas S with the commando engine. I have 4 gals regular to use in the lawn mower and thought I would use that for now while the car is still in the garage. Any ideas. It does...

    carter afb: fuel disappears?

I have the same issue. The carb was rebuilt by a professional, not me. The carb before the rebuild looked as though it had red mud in the dry carb. The guys in Texas who rebuilt may carb told me this was caused by ethanol used in gas today. My car is in the garage and never runs over 30 minutes...

    where does my fuel go

Thanks guys, I had thought about the electric fuel pump but didn't think it was an issue. The car seems to take quite a while to start. I hate to sit and grind on it for a few moments to get it started. Once it has started it starts real easy.

    where does my fuel go

I have just gone out to start my 1965 Barracuda. I had it running last week and it was fine. Today it didn't want to start so I opened the hood and notice the fuel filter has very little fuel in it. I pour a little fuel in the carb, the car starts and the filter starts to fill with fuel. My carb...

    Restoring carburator

I had my original carb built by Carbs and More in Laporte Tx. It came back in a week and looks brand new. He puts the carb on a motor and adjust before it is sent back to you. Cost around 225 but did a great job.

Newbie in need of Carb Help....

Kyle, I just had a carb rebuilt by Carbs and More in Laporte Tx. It cost around 225 and looks like a new carb, not just a rebuild. It arrives adjusted and ready to bolt on and go. You may try that instead of a new one, especially if it is numbers matching.

I just started to restore my 65 Barracuda Formula S. I pulled the carb and can't see any numbers for a rebuild kit. fuel tank

I know this has been ask before. My 65 Barracuda has been sitting for awhile. I need to clean the gas tank or replace it. 2 questions

Thanks for info. Mine has an automatic trans and there is another spring that runs toward the rear of the motor. Also the choke I have Is suppose to fit into the exhaust manifold. If I bolt it that way there is no way it can hook to the carb.
