    Pleats Not Sewn, Molded ('65's)

After ten years I finally took notice while cleaning the seats that the pleats in the '65 Formula S upholstery are not sewn, but pre-molded into the cover material. Sometimes I overlook details like that.

'64-'65 Valiant/Barracuda Bucket Seat Track Springs?

Thanks, now I see. Evidently, there are two very tiny springs (without any hooks) that go on each end of the cable/wire to keep it from falling off (One of my two buckets has that cable/wire snapped in two pieces).

'64-'65 Valiant/Barracuda Bucket Seat Track Springs?

How many springs do the bucket seats utilize to control the seat adjustment mechanism? Any photos posted on the forum that show the underside of the bucket seats with the levers, wires, and springs installed correctly? Thank you.

How Thick is Fiberboard on Bucket Seat back ('65 Barracuda)?

I measure about 3mm. Did the factory use 3/32" or 1/8"? I have a sheet of 3/32" on hand. Thank you.

    Early A Door Seal Installation?

I don't find any threads explaining the ins and outs of installing these rubber door seals that are colored on one side. Anyone know of a thread here, or have instructions? Workin' on a '65 Formula S. Are they cut/trim to fit? Need adhesive? I have questions like that. Thank you.

    PG Classics Upholstery

I use local shops because a seat cover should not have to be that big an investment if you ask me. They have the original/old covers I give 'em and seem to be able to duplicate them pretty well (fine by me anyway). The pleats are one inch on the ABody bucket but that is because I authorized the...

    Huge Upholstery Disappointment

If the 60 year old foam is turning to dust, I would think the customer would normally be consulted regarding rotten foam. However, here in Mexico local customs may be different.

    Huge Upholstery Disappointment

Found what looks like "curry spice powder" under the "65 Formula S bucket seat I just paid $125.00 USD to re'cover. The guy wanted to use fabric on the seat bottom but I insisted he use the burlap I provided. I chose the camel color and the guy was to provide the labor and other materials. Not...

Early A ('65) Bucket Seat Foam: Make Your Own?

I just found on Classic Industries site: OER one foam for $135.99/two for $237.99 & Legendary a pair for $328.99. Here is a guy making his own:

Early A ('65) Bucket Seat Foam: Make Your Own?

Is there any reason one can't do it oneself? Is the foam offered for sale reinforced with metal framing or something like that? I have two '65 Abodies and would need four of these and don't have time to wait for another inheritance. Thank you. Edit: I previously introduced this post saying...

Headliner Installation "Complications" '65 Formula S

Does anyone have photos of the naked visor holes in the roof? I am looking through my own restoration photos and so far can't seem to locate a shot of that corner area (thank you).

Headliner Installation "Complications" '65 Formula S

Having work done in Mexico has its advantages/disadvantages: Arranged to have the upholstery guy come to the house and install the headliner in the '65 Formula S under "my guiding eye" (although I don't know that much about headliners). He came over, but I had mixed up the headliner bows and we...

    66 Barracuda headliner install problem

I see back in December 2020 member swing69 had some similar problems/questions. Unfortunately there is no follow-up to find what the solution was for him (so sad when the threads end without a happy ending and frustrating for someone with a like question or problem). Headliner challenges....darnit!

    66 Barracuda headliner install problem

Good question. They may or may not be "bent, warped, or twisted". With that in mind, it might be worth a try to measure along the curve. What do you think?

    66 Barracuda headliner install problem

I'm having the same problem as post #1. Does anyone know the proper lengths and positions of each rod for a '65 Barracuda? I painted mine, so no longer have the color coding. Thank you.

Headliner Tomorrow on '65 Barracuda: I Have a Pair of Questions?

    A) When does one attach the small brackets that accommodate the coat hanger hooks? Do they go under the long piece with the teeth or on top of the piece with teeth? Does they go on before the headliner or on top of it? Thank you (see first 3 photos). B) What secures the foam things that go in...

Early A Trunk Quarter Panel "Abyss"

If you ever used a paper towel to wipe up something wet and forgot to pick it up, the next day it will be dry again ready to absorb more moisture. That would be the idea of something absorbent, it would wick away the moisture and then it would air dry. My theory anyway.

Early A Trunk Quarter Panel "Abyss"

Does anyone stuff something in the cracks on either side of the trunk were all kinds of junk drop inside, never to be seen again? I was thinking about placing something like sponges to act as a kind of a "filler" (would not only prevent small items from hitting bottom but would soak up any real...

    Dash Pad Experience

My local upholstery shop re-did the dash pad on my '65 Formula S for like thirty or forty bucks, nothing to it: some foam, glue, fabric. I cleaned up the metal base and painted it first. see post #10 & #11 in this thread: early A dash pad replacement

First Generation Barracuda Black Plastic Molding Placement?

I know the long (broken) strip pictured is placed along the inside base of the windshield. However, the additional pair of black plastic "u-shaped" pieces (about 18" long total length) have me befuddled. Anyone know where they belong? Thank you.

    Remedy for Loose-Fitting Interior Screws?

When re-using the same/correct factory chrome screws on interior parts (visors, for example) I am finding the screws are too loose in the holes. I seem to have heard of a trick to make them usable again, but what was it now? Anybody remember? Thank you.

1965 Barracuda Interior Plastic Trunk Corner Moldings Fasteners?

I finally found a plastic sandwich bag which contains four tiny 1/4" long #8 Phillips headed screws (5/32") (see photo #1) and bits and pieces of a push type plastic fastener that must go in the larger four 3/16" holes/slots (see representative photo #2-not actual factory part). Early A-Body Dash Pad "Straps"

This video explains on a '64 Valiant that there are five 3/8" headed nuts to remove the padded dash pad, as well as two straps on either end fastened with a screw on the bottom and a push-pin thing on top. He recommended removing the headlight switch for access. Not sure if removing the gauge...
