Congrats on the stop smoking venture. I have been off of the cancer sticks for 19 years now. I quit cold turkey and the first two to three weeks were a ***** but well worth the hard work. I felt so much better and food taste so much better. My motivation was the money that I put in a coffee...

What do you like about your car the most?

Hey 65 Valiant, I also have a 65 Valiant but mine is a base 100 that was left for dead. I made it just the way I wanted it and didn't worry about what anybody else thought. And you are right, I haven't seen many around and that's why I love mine. Jerry

    Possible Career Change...

Hey 805, I've been a cop for 20 years. Started out with local P.D. then moved to the Sheriff Office, all the while worked on my flying creds. Finally got all of the ratings and applied for a State Police flying job and was lucky enough to get hired. I can retire next year at 55 with a great...

    One to keep it real.

I left when I was 17 and thought I knew it all. I didn't realize how ignorant I really was. My dad made plenty of mistakes with me and my brother but I really didn't know hard his job was until my wife and I had two kids. WOW. I made some of the same mistakes that that my dad did. I learned...

    Father on muscle cars

I've met Mr. Shelby at Oshkosh WI. several years ago and got him to sign a couple of Ford hats. What a story teller and a great guy. He was on stage for about a hour telling us about his story in the car business. I could have listened to him for hours. He was in better health then. I'm a...

Old tired rebel has that right. I injured my back about ten years ago and I'm reminded of it everyday. I don't know how many times I've said that I'm not the man I used to be. Still working on these old cars though it just takes me longer. Jerry

I'm just north of Wilmington and we just finnished up with the Irene. She wasn't to bad, just a pain in the *** with all of the limbs and shingles blown off. We did need the rain though. We lost power this morning about 4 a.m. but pluged the generator in the house. That help a lot. We got...

I live just north of Wilmington, N.C. so we will probably get a lot of the inpact. I've been through several of these and really didn't prepair much but I'm a little worried about this one. We've prepaired as much as we can. Anyway, we'll see what she's got. Jerry

How much did you pay for your A Body

My brother found my car (current avatar) in a cow pasture and the guy gave it to him. I bought it from him in 2007 for 400.00. I have much more in it now but I love this car and hoping I never have to sell it. I'm still spending money for up grades.

Man, this thread sure is timley. I am currently finnishing up with the fine tweaking on my 65 Valiant. Seems like I can't finnish this car. So because of that, I can't seem to find the time or energy to start on a sweet 70 Challenger that I bought almost three years ago. I haven't lost...
