**73 Scamp Mini Pro-Street Engine Swap**

Your car has a nice clean look. I would avoid having the sump and fuel lines visable from the back of the car if it was me.

Gas Tank/sump - will it pass tech?

I don't care for the way a dropped sump looks on a stock tank in a street car. Looks a little to race car for my liking. I must admit though it's a fairly common modification on street strip drag cars and I'm surprised that it's so scary to some. The one pictured is not really that low to the...

Gas Tank/sump - will it pass tech?

Why? and what does that mean someone that can use it? You back a car into the wall hard and I would just assume the fuel dump in the ground not all over the inside trunk of the car by the battery an ignition source. Even with a typical fire wall panel behind the seat there is still openings in...

Gas Tank/sump - will it pass tech?

The tank is stock and in a stock location just has a modified fuel pickup, I think it's legal. Send NHRA tech an email and picture. Contact info on the link below for tech questions. http://www.nhra.com/contact.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

Gas Tank/sump - will it pass tech?

Well the original gas tank is not within the confines of the frame as it hangs lower than the frame. That's a tricky one, I personally think it's fine if it's constructed of steel and welded to the tank. If it was a plastic fuel cell They would want the sump protected with sheet metal I believe...

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

I agree with it being more efficient to move forward vs moving up. On a small tire car with limited tire and traction to deal with I think there is probably some sort of balance to transferring weight and how hard the tires get hit from any number of factors during the initial launch through...

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

One of the vendors I talk to that use to run a Hemi Barracuda. Said they had to run the small ball joint per class rules. Said it was stupid and a accident waiting to happen. They have a small fortune in those cars.

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

Different animal, full tube chassis race car vs a back half factory production car. One was built to race and well one to take the family to the races. :-D

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

Nope just saying the Hemi Super Stocker could be faster if they didn't wheel stand. :-D

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

There is definitely a fine line on the wheel standing cars. You see some cars go up then drop like a rock and go. Then of course you have the extreme bumper dragging rear wheels off the ground and coming down in a carnage of a mess. I'm thinking something in between the two, possibly I'm in...

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

You have a Red Valiant already lol... had me going for a split second there. In addition to making sense. It just flat out seems much more exciting for both the drivers and spectators with the wheels in he air. Now I'm at a cross roads, ladder bars or leaf springs, probably both about the...

I'd buy a new Ford over a new Chrysler any day except the diesel trucks, that would be a toss up.

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

Thanks for the information. Other than it looking cool and no doubt the Dart is a crowd favorite. Is there any racing reason for setting up the car up to wheel stand like that? Maybe it's a little distracting to the driver in the next lane. :-D

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

In a sea of drag cars there is a few cars burned into my mind that I'll never forget. Most of them are wheel standers like that and a couple small tire sleepers like the Jim Henn Nova seen at local tracks live and in person.

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

This must be the wheelsup73 and Lisa Caldwell Dart. Lots of video on youtube, looks like it's running a four link. I like it! Although I was hoping to stay with caltracs. I know a lot of drag cars running weight in the rear. I've personally never tried it. Lisa Caldwell's BIGGEST...

What would it take to carry the front wheels to the 60' beams?

I think your right, that and gearing. I remember Silva saying that a 4.10 gear made the Demon a real wheel stander Think he also ran a 3.91 gear that tamed it down a bit. He was running a real big inch small block though 470 something cubic inches. Lots of torque with a light car. I have a...
