Quick Question: In 1965 did Plymouth ever put 273 commando's into their Valiant Convertibles?
Does anybody know howw many 1965 valiant convertibles were ordered with a 273 commando?
I don’t have the numbers for ‘65 and the ‘66 numbers I have don’t specify exactly how many were convertibles.
Total ‘65 convertibles:
Signet 2,578
“200” 2,768
Total ‘66 convertibles:
Signet 2,507
1966 Valiants with 273 Commando:
792 with 313 of those with a 4-speed manual
I would think the ‘65 production numbers would be pretty similar.
Not too much info available for 65's. I have no breakdowns for convertibles or Commando 273's. Sorry
No #s are available on factory productionYa I didn't expect much, I just have heard a rumor that only 8 1965 Plymouth valiant convertibles came with the commando 273 and no records were made because they were special orders and Plymouth never confirmed them. So I wanted to confirm its validity. Thanks for looking though.
There has been stories of a fire at Chrysler headquarters back in the 60's where the records were destroyed. I have no reason to disbelieve this. THere isn't much info about the cars of the early 60's because of that.
I get a lot of my information from the Galen Govier books.Interesting, I guess we will never know then.
