1970 Dart 340

-
I know it’s been off the road since 1992. Turns out the engine and transmission is numbers matching, but it has O heads on it that I’m not sure are correct or not. Also doesn’t have the original 340 exhaust manifolds anymore. I’m still up in the air whether to restore it or sell since I also have a 68 Dart I’m in the middle of working on.
I always thought "0" heads were on Challengers or Cuda's. Same as the "X" heads, 2.02's.

I read that they may be 1970 heads but figured it should have X heads. The whole engine was painted blue at some point also, and heads don’t look orange underneath at all.

Still trying to decide on what to do. In a lot of ways I prefer to do whatever I want to a less rare car, like my 68 Dart 2 door sedan I’m working on. With the 340 car I wouldn’t want to change it much.

Thats the way I feel on my 69 dart convert
One owner....but always wanted a 340 car
The kid kid of talked me into the swap

Just because someone had a worn out 70 Dart with small torsion bars no sway bar and worn out leave springs crappy tires and s*** shocks and they say the car doesn't handle LOL and I won't even talk about lack of driving ability. compare it to a fresh suspension properly aligned 340 swinger with torque boxes XHD spring pack front sway bar and good shocks tires and rims. compared to the rest of the cars on the road in the 70s it was pretty darn good. I remember the year was about 1977 I raced the AMX 401 4speed with one of the best drivers around behind the wheel and he never did get around me... And that's a fact Jack!

Yup I loved the way both of my 69 darts handled
And my 71 fury ...
But when compared to my s4 or s8 let's say they handle different
Never liked the feel of Chevy or ford back then
