Looking for info on the tach wiring on a 1970 Duster 340. The tach has 2 terminals and I have the wire that runs thru the firewall to the - side of the coil. Does the other terminal on the tach get used and if so what is it wired to?

The other terminal goes to switched hot in run. I have a pic here somewhere for 67,8,9 that shows the tach hot inside the fuse box.
Please note before you hook it up... If you have factory or aftermarket tach and aftermarket ignition, do the reasearch. Some combinations like MSD will kill some tachs.

I chkd the 70 schematic and it doesnt show tach for 70, all I can go by is 67 and like Redfish says, dark blue wire goes to the fusebox, and the gray wire goes to bulkhead and then to coil -ve. This is all based on 67 and factory wiring/tach

Here is 69 schematics...I think yours would be pretty close to the same, Redfish might be able to point out the differences

Chk this link out, they are the instrument guys up here. They no what they are talking about. If you dont have factory wires, Im not sure which side of the tach goes to coil -ve. Hate to see you fry a tach.

Go to MyMopar and download the '70 manual.

You have to play with page numbers because in the reader they don't follow the original "dash" Mopar page numbers

Index to wiring page 353

70 "Dart/ Charger" manual. This one DOES use the conventional "dash" Mopar numbers. It does not specifically cover A body tach wiring either

Now, I could not specifically find the "stuff" that covers this for the Valient, but both B body and 'Cuda run a dark blue to power. One diagram shows the power wire hooked to the radio connector, the other diagram shows hooked to a tab in the fuse panel.
