340 Steel Crank

-
As far as heads , I have out of the box Eddys on my current 340. Is there something else that would give a significant boost out of the box , unless its leaps and bounds ahead of what I currently have , I'll probably just use my current top end. Forged pistons are on my radar as well.

I just called KGEngines in Ohio.
Whom cnc ports alot of heads, steel mopar heads etc., their heads flow their advertised numbers on other shops benches.
They will run your edelbrock heads through their cnc for $850. If you need valve job and other work it’s not included in the $850.

So your budget and desires can determine the right decision.

Trick Flow heads are the pretty obvious choice if you need more than the edelbrock/promaxx/AFR/Speedmaster castings give.
But a cnc program on your Edelbrock heads is pretty much the same level as a trick flow head. Again, budget and desires.

So I ended up buying a virgin 340 Forged crank for $200. Looking to build a .060 11/1 street car motor that can hold its own against some of the new stuff lol. Hopefully a 55 year old crank can hold up. lol
I'd have it magnafluxed and if it shows no cracks, it's already better than any of the new stuff.

I'm hearing a lot of that. Unless I'm looking to spend a lot more money , I think the factory forged will be fine for my application.
