I know I'm right....
I had an original super stock 426 AL waterpump housing long ago that had a 4X4X4 reservoir on top and a 90 degree hose inlet. I sold it to a old drag racer restoring a 64 hemi and he said it was correct for assisting in burping the coolant. I looked at the housing and a cast iron one of the same vintage and there was no difference except about 10 lbs. Even some of the numbers were the same.
