No it's not settled the wife will get with the wife wants lol it will probably be Stock intake and the Edelbrock carb maybe even one of my dual carbs to get it started and gone and then we'll get the thermoquad fired up. At this point I'm thinking of just giving that intake the good scrubbing it looks like the original paint looks well

Well I do have good hopes for the carburetor as it's like I said the intake looks very clean. And I do believe it to be the original carburetor that was on that intake. But again with so many variables at this point I'd like it not to be one of them.

Okay wife has made final decision on intake and carburetor of course she likes the stock intake when I showed her the condition of the thermoquad and told her that it kind of belongs with that manifold and I would have to cut the manifold or do some kind of grinding to make the Edelbrock Carburetor fit? I put the Edelbrock on the Edelbrock and she like that idea because she thought the thermoquad would be a whole nother winter project LOL Do I detect some anticipation ??!

Yesterday I put the timing chain cover on. I dummied (like everything I do) the water pump on to hellp seal the cover as it was is not fully prepared yet.

Probably .020 more and it would have. That's why I was mentioning the tips of the intake castings being touched.

So last night I was showing my wife the hole for the fuel pump in the timing cover and explaining how that all works.
I told her that we could use a manual pump and bypass the electric pump ? That got a big thumbs up! And you would know why if you've owned or even heard a cheap summit racing electric fuel pump.

I'd think another month at least to get everything done. There's the motor, transmission, driveline, and shifter, but there are a half dozen other things also. Move drivers seat, install swing out on rollbar, change 2 step location, ect.ect.ect.....

Stock cast open chambers have that wide flat area at about .090" deep. I can't say how much that will vary; I've only measured a few with the same idea in mind....open to closed chamber conversion. If you have the chance jpar, measure how much depth is actually left there.

LOL my wife said what are you going to do with that beautiful Stroker motor I love those valve covers it looks so beautiful? I said we could bring it in the house and display it!? Without a blink of the eye she said if we had like a glass table to put over top of it? Is there any doubt in anybody's mind why I married this woman?! Of course I have told the stories of her driving alone up to Seattle to get my 4 Speed and stuff like that, but just her saying that is all I need...

Far less stressful, but it's a struggle to not put more money into it- a big struggle..
I think you are having more fun with this build vs your stroker build.... and I don't blame you
