It's looking better and better each day.
How do you like the Doug's headers for fitment etc?

Thanks Tom.

They are good, I didn't have to smash any tubes for clearance, they don't hang low like Hookers, and it's easy to change the oil filter. But, it was a ***** to install the starter wires and put the nuts on the connections. It was also hell installing them because they hug the block so close.

Not much new to tell. Bled the brakes, sort of got the front window trim installed, although it fits like crap. Interior is nearly finished with the exception of the headrests. The only issue I'm having now is getting my rear window trim to clip in. The gasket appears to be too thick? Or the clips don't reach far enough? Either way, these cars don't get away without window trim too easily.
I also need to tow it to the exhaust shop to have exhaust installed. It has glass packs in it but I can't handle those, so I have mufflers for it.
And Paul said he wanted to buff it before I finally put the emblems on.

Took a couple pics the other night, crappy cell quality though.

Edit.. ugh, those pics are horrible. I'll take some good ones with the camera.

@ Mike- looks good !!! Seems we decided to the same colour outside ?:violent1:
have a look here : http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=174858&page=2

I feel with you while you put in the headers - thats why I will take the
original and not headers...

Best wishes for the project and the last work on it !

We plan to visit Canada next year, so I hope I can organize a short stay on Vancouver Island to watch the car....

Greetings from Leipzig, Germany

Thanks! Your color looks more grey/black though? Mine is F8 Green.
Let me know when you get to the island!

@ Mike
No, it´s not a gray, it´s a light green ( from VOLKSWAGEN ) named fresco and the top is a dark gray metallic ( from TOYOTA ).
When car is ready and sun is shining, the pics will be better and show the real colors.
Nice, thanks for invitation, but I´ll try to have a short time to visit the island.... mostly we will visit the mountains around Lake Luise again....
That will be the 4. stay in your country and third time in this area for me... wonderful scenic !

Let us change some pics, if we have our cars ready for the street.:burnout:

All the best to you + greetings from Leipzig,
Peter

nice i really like.I have never been much for the 70 but i think they are growing on me

Got the exhaust done today at the exhaust shop. Went with a pair of Dynomax Ultra Flo Welded mufflers that I had bought years ago, and couldn't really remember why I bought them, but anyways, took a chance on them and they sound sweet! They have a nice deep rumble to them, they bark loud when you rev it, and there is no drone inside the car.
Also had a pair of 340 Dart exhaust tips so I had those welded on.

Next thing is to insure the car, and hopefully get it tuned in the next few days to where I can drive it on the street.

I took a few crappy cell phone pics but you get the idea. Pics were taken before the exhaust was put on, but the last pic is of it on the trailer back from the shop. You can just make out the square tips.

i am looking at one, 70 dart, near cleveland ohio it is a gt but needs to go through it motor body interior i hope by spring

Ok, Mike...we need a sound clip now!!!

BTW, how much was the bill for your duals?...just curious...

Well, I already had pipes back to a dump right before the axle, with glass packs and an H pipe.

But to weld the Doug's collectors, install Dynomax mufflers, and bend new pipes to go over the axles and install 340 tips, it came to $346.

$90 in pipe
$190 in labour

The rest in misc clamps, taxes, etc.

I had it done at Sidney Tire in Parksville, by their old exhaust guru.

You've done an awesome job on it, Mike.
I really like the Dart Custom emblems on the upper quarter panel, is that original?

Yes they are original. The emblems themselves I had a hell of a time finding. Used ones were all pitted. I found those finally at Laysons.
