70's/80's back in day cars

-
Me in 1988 in my parent's driveway. 1970 340 Duster ex drag car with driveshaft loops etc. (and block heater!!!! notice the cord)...It was Soo Ontario. Originally Hemi Orange 4spd. Had to sell it in 1991 (first 2 weeks of College) when I put a Ford EXP that I bought for $500 for a college commuter through a pole. Pole cost $816. EXP gone. 70 real 340 Duster was bought for $800. $2500 into it at $3.90/hr at oil change place at the time mostly in mechanical and brakes with Kelsey Hayes calipers from the dealer then at $310 and sold for $800 to pay for the pole. I have soooo many memories in that car.

Nice pics so far. I've got 4 or 5 dozen from the Street Machine Nats East from 80' or 81' somewhere. Be perfect for this thread if i could only find them?:banghead:

you really should find those Rick !

Well, i completely tore apart the storage room this morning and went thru every box that was supposed to be mine and no luck. What i did find out was i'm missing some other things as well. Those pics were in several containers with Shows and National events, incl. 1992 Gainesville when i personally witnessed Kenny Bernstein go 300 mph. A bunch of old family pics, my gearhead t-shirt collection and my model car builds that were bubble wrapped in boxes are also MIA. I'm hoping the wife hasn't done some cleaning behind my back. I always here, you don't need that or you'll never use those. She hates clutter and while unemployed and bored she's had a tendency to thin out everything. This woman once bought a set of 12 new drinking glasses on sale, then took 4 of them to goodwill because we didn't need that many.....HELLO! I'm keeping my fingers crossed the'll turn up somewhere.

Sorry about venting here.........Now back to the great pics.:thumbrig:

that is exactly the reason i dont have any personal pics from back in the day... and we are talking 100's of pics that "magically" disappeared..... to this day, i have never gotten over it....

I want to thank everyone who has posted pics. I love cars from this era.I have hundreds of pics from street machine national thru the 80's, if I can get ahold of a scanner, I will post them. One more thing, I never really was a cragar man, but in my opinion, there is no better looking rim on a a body. Please keep the pics coming.
