A 1974 Duster - My 2nd one, 41 years later!

Finding out with paint...it is not an exact science. I shot the scoop outside last Saturday so I would not get any over spray on my car....well seems I was calling in all the Kamikaze Bugs. The clear sucked with all the dive bombers. I cut it all back with 600 and re shot it tonight...Inside! It is kick *** now!

That's amazing turned out great loving that you did gloss black and not satin. Different look and looks sharp as hell!

Thanks Everyone! Dave I am going to miss seeing all you guys too! We will do another Bar B Que Mopar get together sometime this summer. My car should be done, back together, and running!

Cut day. Sanded the hood with 1500. Applied the white guide coat, and sanded in 2000. Here it is with the white guide coat on. Not very interesting to look at, but part of the process.

Spent this morning cutting it to 3000 with the DA. Here it is wet and cleaned up, ready to go in for final buff/polish. Have to say, very happy with how the black came out.

Hood has been delivered to "Cars Remember When". So my car is there, the doors are there (and buffed out already), the hood is there....So the next pic I will take is of the car all buffed out and the doors, and the hood installed. They said they will install the side stripe and tail panel piece, so I will take those things to them on Monday. I think the next pics are going to look pretty darn cool!

Back glass has been tinted black and is here ready to install. All glass pieces will go in soon!

How exciting dude, I’m so excited for you Alex, I’m about 6 months away on mine, your car is going to be amazing when it’s all done an head spinner for sure

Awful quiet how are things going? This should be a big week for your car from the looks of things.

Agreed. Quiet here waiting for the car to be buffed out. I am taking them the side stripes & tail stripe along with the door handles this morning. I think they will need the door handles when positioning the side stripes.

Delivered the stripe package and the powder coated black door handles. Car is all buffed/polished out. Just have to adjust the drivers door. Here she is as of today. Stripes go on next!

While I’m waiting for the car to be done...I started to do a High Lift garage door conversion. This moves the door rails up, appx. 7.75” from the ceiling, making a lot more room. Also moves the opener from the center over to the side front wall. Yes, I am planning on installing a 4 Post lift for the Duster to live on. I’ll take some pics.

Today 6/15/18 marks 3 years to the day from when I bought the car. I thought I would get it all done in 3 years....but it looks like I am going to miss my mark. Finishing the basement when we moved took up a lot of time, oh well...I am getting close.
