Advice on moving forward

When money allows, swap out to drag shocks. The Monroes are not good for the launch.
 
I'm with 318willrun... it's soft in the power department an it's probably tuning/carb related. With what you listed for parts I'd expect mid 12s all day.
 
Took the car out for a drive with the new converter and I love it. I also started to try different settings on the carburetor but developed an ignition miss under load and then surging at idle? Time to follow wires, check grounds and see where this leads. Its too hot to do anything for the next few days. At least I have two weeks before the 10th.
