I know there was never an A-body Chrysler Imperial, but Murray Pfaff's "Imperial Speedster" is like an A-body sporty version that Mopar should have built. I've seen pics of this work of art in several magazines but seeing it in person at Fall Fling last Saturday put the pics to shame.
You've got to see this car in person to really appreciate all the time and effort that this build took. Talking with Murray found his original intent was to build a 'rat rod'. I told him he failed miserably and all he did was laugh. There's 10,000 man-hours in this build (multiply that by your local shop rate).
It's absolutely beautiful!

The 6.1 new Hemi breathes through those openings in the cowl

You've really got to see the interior in person to pick up all the details

If you ever get the chance to see this car. Take some time and check it out all over to really appreciate all the fine details.

There's lots more info on this car on the internet. Check out some of it to see what was really involved in turning a 19'-long tank into a sweet 2-seater.

Here's one link with some great info on the build:

im happy i wated the 13 mins for this page to load to look at that its nice ... a rat rod it aint thats art work right there

I think it is a great display of workmanship. I couldn't do it, not by a long shot. That said.....look at the doors. Somehow they ain't makin it.....they're too short. I wouldn't know how to correct it without makin that whole 1/4 panel longer, which would booger up the cra's look...but the doors are too short. I wouldda picked different wheels. Those two things aside, it is a work of art. No doubt about it.

Amazing...... But still ugly but thats my opinion

have to agree with you
the wheels more than anything else ruin it for me
although there are parts of the design that are beautiful
and the workmanship is amazing, as a whole it just doesn't work for me

Detail at it's best I think :happy1:
Back in the day it would be proper to have a long nose and short doors :sign7:
like this car has for a two seater JMO.
The entire car is a work of art, But I would loose the wheels for sure
WOW!! Thank you for sharing, I bet that drive train whispers down the road
The center console/clove box looks like it came out of my old 68 Monaco
I wonder what it appraises at ? It's a very nice well thought out two seat road car...:happy1:
I bet your pictures don't do it justice ocdart :hello2:
but you sure took some good shots of it
looking at it with the man beside the drivers side fender put's a little more perspective in the size and lay out of this two seat'er

That's Murray Pfaff, the designer and builder, cleaning the wheels Saturday morning.
Like most of you, I dont care for the wheels either and would have done something different. But I know I wouldn't have had the vision to see a 2-seater roadster hiding inside a 4-door luxo-barge.

I wondering if he was going for a European Look? Then the Wheels would make sense.

It is definitely a love-or-hate affair, but man atleast we all respect the craftsmanship is just "WOW!"

I saw this car in Indy this year......Good Guys Show I believe, anyway It is really something to see in person, very very nice work, just a little odd to look at, knowing how big the full size car is.
