I. Have a friend who " AMX'ed " a 69 Javelin. Hot got all if his parts from a guy who has a 50 yr collection of parts, I mean a ton of AMC parts, pm me if you Want his number.

I have been thinking of going on the hunt for a 68-74 Javelin or AMX project. I realize it is a way smaller world that even Moparland, but I admit I am somewhat tired of overpriced Mopar projects, and I am not even talking of second gen Chargers or any Roadrunner! Even every Duster project I see these days is a POS and stupid $ for what it is. LOL
I enjoy learning about new things and I have little detail knowledge of building AMC. I bet there is precious little if any repo stuff for those. Probably a close knit group like Mopar was back in the 80s, 90s and thats good.

Was big AMC years ago, several AMX's, Javelin AMX and couple of SC Ramblers.
Went to the big event every year in Kenosha.
And yeah......parts were real hard to get...it's a bit better now but parts still hard to find.

AM had some really cool cars, and they were a great company to be a smaller one no doubt. The Javeleins and AMX projetcars are stil out there. I actually see better projects than in the Mopar field these days around here. Every knuckhead thinks his rusted out half parted out old Mopar turd is world $5-10,000. OK maybe if a second gen Charger! LOL:rofl::realcrazy::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

You can get into a project at a fair price but parts are hard to find and expensive. I have this SST I'm going to sell when I'm done with it. Waiting on $200. Window fuzzies

I owned an SC/Rambler in HS. Bought it for $1400 off a used car lot. I would love to own another.

I installed a 401 with goodies, in a Gremlin back in the 70's.
What a sleeper, the rear tires were the only give-away .
He won a lotta $$$ with that thing .

I ran a 68 AMX for about 20 years before I took a break from racing. Had a 1971 401 (factory supplied forged steel crank and rods) with dog leg heads. There is definitely an aftermarket parts community out there. If it's still in existence as an organization the National American Motors Drivers & Racers Association had parts vendors associated with it.

Even back then parts were hard to find...people would take a roller like that and put a Small block Mopar in it and run it... I knew a feller who had an AMX with a 440 Mopar in it...

I’m currently building a 71 javelin at the moment with 232 inline, 3spd automatic but I’ve built several Amc javelins as well as a few early year ramblers. Parts wise for the javelins aftermarket parts are getting better IMO, but for early ramblers hell no. I like them because they are different and unique and you can still get them fairly cheap just gotta look around.

The blue one I just finished a couple months ago and gave it to my brother in exchange for 2 javelins a 71 and 72. The white one I sold that one to the same brother and the grey one I’m currently working on!

Sis had a 64 ish Rambler American with a 4cyl in it if not a very weak 6. Square as a Lego. Every old guy wanted to but it to make a shoebox hotrod out of it.

This is my other 1960 rambler tank. This one tho I put a dodge 360 with Dakota 5 speed and Chevy truck trailing arm rear suspension.

Thanks I will check it out. A couple of ood sites on FB also.
I did find a guy with 3 Javelin builders 72,3,4 and also a guy with a 64 was it 2 door hardtop whats it called! Looked like midsize car. I like that unique old sucker. I have those on my "maybe" list but as always quite a ride away to go looking!

I’ve been into amc’s for the last 30 years, but I just sold my entire collection to a guy in Texas this last spring.
There’s tons of parts and aftermarket support if you know we’re to look.
