Back half regrets?

-
I bought my dart with the work done its caged and mini tubed with his own triangulated 4 link, but even he wished he did a full tub after it was all done and this car is set up for twin turbo, so I'll be doing some suspension tuning for sure to get it to hook, maybe down the road tub it but its a street strip car with currently 315 60 mt drag radials but will see if I can get it to hook with my turbo build.

I backhalved my car in the mid 90s. If I had known better I would have left the leafs in it. Now it can fit a 33x16 tire and I run a 275 pro drag radial still have the dana just a little wider.. Ive actually looked at a couple parts cars to cut the pans out of. Just not feeling it.. lol

QUOTE: I have not been able to hook my 295 65 15 d.r. w/ caltracs yet , just turns sideways when I get in it . Which ever way the road slopes. No dragstrip as of yet tho. I regret not tubbing it when I built it! 68 fast bastback form S business coupe anyway .

LOL...That's because they're not designed to hook on a sloping road. A back half ladder bar car would to the same thing...
No sh-- ! MY 600 HORSE 2440 POUND VEGA , W/ LADDER BARS DID THE SAME THING !

Thanks for all the feedback and advice. Quick update: I have new L & R floor pans installed, and the frame connectors and all four torque boxes from US Cartool welded in. I went with the two piece floor pans because I'll have to fabricate a new trans tunnel anyway... I am going to center the driveline in the car, instead of keeping it offset 1-3/16" like it came from the factory. I have ordered a back half kit with a four link, and double adjustable shocks from S&W. Both ends of the car will run a swaybar to help with torque transfer. I also ordered a narrowed 9" big bearing housing while I was at it. All the new brakes, hubs, master cylinder, and proportioning valve are here from my friends at Baer. As soon as Carl gets my front end delivered, I'll start cutting out the back end for the new frame rails and rear suspension.

I guess its what ever you like and what are you going to do with the car. I have a back half 67 cuda with 29/18.50 and its a pain in the @@@ just to get a tire off...but it sure does look good.

Can we get pictures of the progress please?

I agree. I was a big tire back half guy but not anymore. Drag radials have come a LONG way and I can hook them just as well as a slick MOST of the time LOL. It is nice to have a full size trunk and a back seat too. I thought a long time about cutting up the Duster but decided I would rather have a 275 and keep the fold down rear seat. If you can't hook 10 inches with Caltracs, you need to find some help!

I need some help !!!!!!!!!!!
