I met Bob at the 79 Winternationals, I was introduced to him by a neighbor who you all know, Bob Mullen. I got the honoe between rounds to sit in the driver's seat of the arrow.
So you know Bob Mullins? What happened to him? Is he still alive?
Sorry for derail.
He'll be match racing his Fords in heaven with Sox, Landy, the Grump, and many more just like the good old days.
I have read that the w2 port design that worked so well on the small block did not work at all on a big block and that's why Chrysler killed it.IHe moved out of the neighborhood and when he closed his shop is Carson, I lost contact with him. I had moved out of the area too. He used to have a flow bench in his garage and would make clay clylinder ports and would test how they would flow. I remember the many versions of thw W2 ports he had on a shelf. There was going to be a W2 style head for the big blocks, but the big wigs at chrysler killed that project.
that is partially true, Bob was trying to find the exact intake design that would work on the BB, but before he did the project was killed. Chrysler was in finicial problems then and they were killing anything that would not bring in the cash in immediately.I have read that the w2 port design that worked so well on the small block did not work at all on a big block and that's why Chrysler killed it.
