If it's big and ugly is a Lakewood. There is a very remote possibility it's McLeod but I doubt it.

Those were the only choices up to just recently.

You can get a window out in the can if you want. If all you are going to use it for is adjusting freeplay it isn't worth it.

If you are going to tune the clutch than you need to get a window in the can.

what about if you're just going to let it lay on your garage floor forever and then sell the car?

But in escence you are adjusting the gap between the bearing and the fingers. I do it visually and you do it with pedal free play. Real race cars have clutches that are adjusted with feeler gauges through the top. :poke::poke:

It's still the same adjustment. I did actually go back out and look at the car today. I'm hoping I get a call from a guy tomorrow to come look at it on Sunday. He only has to drive about 4 hours to get here and not 9 like the other jackoff who doesn't listen.

So yes, even if the car sits around, you still adjust the clutch the same way.

True. You are still setting the gap at the fingers. I just don't bother looking in there. I'm old school.

            (My son driving)
It's a pile of crapola, but it's my pile...
The first thing I would say if you're Street driving it I would definitely put a diaphragm clutch in it when the time came. I've ran one even drag racing and while they're a little crappy racing they're great on the street and easy-to-use and almost maintenance-free. And nothing expensive, just a good heavy duty clutch.
Now on the other hand if you're Racing for points and competition definitely have a window put in it and keep the three-fingered clutch. My-2.

I had a similar problem trying to get my clutch adjusted and was also eating throw out bearings. Couldn't get the release point up where I wanted it. Turned out that the fork pivot was cracked and was flexing where it bolted to the scattershield so it had been a moving target.

Also, I want to show you where I made money in HS if we can get in there. Then we can see if you can drive on the street.
