Could use some prayers.

Done, and will continue till he is well. Bacterial meningitis is a bugger, I had it 3 years ago after back surgery let staff into my spinal fluid. 5 days in ICU, then 21 days on high strength IV antibiotics. Luckily only lasting effect was short term memory problems (good excuse when I forget to do what the wifey told me too).

Good thing is that they are monitoring it now to prevent it.

Sending positive energy for a speedy recovery.........

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Your concern really means a lot and there's comfort in knowing that you are out there pulling for us. Andy seems to be doing good or at least stable. The Spinal tap drain appears to be working because he hasn't had any drainage all afternoon or evening. They have him on pain meds and anti biotics in his saline drip. There is a possibility that he will get out of bed tomorrow and get to move around. There was some talk of injecting die and having a CT scan to check the progress of the healing. Time will tell. Here's a cell phone photo of Andy before his EEG on Friday. I haven't taken many photos but I should snap a few just to remember. Too bad this happened on his 20th. birthday on Thursday. I can't believe he can still smile. Thanks again. Mike

His breakfast looks good. French toast and crispy bacon. He is setting up to eat and no headache so far. Hopefully he will be able to get up today and walk around a bit. I am planning to treck home today and come back later. My wife will switch and go home later tonight or tomorrow. Mike

All the best to Andy and your family too Mike... He looks good, I will send a prayer your way.

Our prayers are also going out to you and your family during this time. May God send you and your family comfort and peace during this ordeal and Andy's recovery!! Geof

Andy had a tough day yesterday (Thursday) He did sleep but didn't eat much. He took some oral antibiotics that upset his stomach and he got sick in the middle of the afternoon. He still doesn't feel like eating but did have some crackers and some ice cream this morning before his medication. The chief of surgery came in this morning for his rounds and said another day with the lumbar drain before they begin clamping it off so his body will get used to absorbing the excess spinal fluid. They should start that on Sunday and get released on Monday. (Hopefully) We are starting to become part of the family around here. (scary) Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Mike
