Do I have a Feather Duster?

Ouch my fuel injected 08 6cyl Dakota gets 20 on the hwy it’s piss poor in my opinion I think that in today’s day and age the car manufacturers could do a far better job of engine management, all drive ability aside yes they start an run cleaner, better cold starts etc but come on all the computers and engineering your telling me they can’t be better ?
I agree. All this technology a guy would think 50 mpg would be commonplace. my 1969 toyota corolla was getting 44 mpg on good days. That being said, if you ran todays cars on gas formulas from the 70’s or 80’s, i bet mileage would be way up.

I don’t believe anyone ever confused a 2008 v6 Dakota with Engineering Excellence, even twelve years ago.
Read my post again, notice that I mentioned ‘new’ fuel injection motor vehicles. Things have changed a lot in the past decade concerning engine performance.

If one exists, prove it.

Go to Detweiler Escavating in Hopedale Illinois. He's the one that bought it at the auction where I saw it. And I bid on it also.
It had the crimped Hood the aluminum door hinges the aluminum bumper crap The Aluminum Intake. I could care less whether you believe me or not I know what I saw and I know what I know I don't have to prove a damn thing to anybody.

Ok off topic but fuel economy thing how come all these new fuel injected cars can’t get that kinda mileage ?
cause they are >4000 lbs now , >200HP and the fuel estimates are more close to reality now. Used to be lab tests for EPA (remember the hatchback Dodge (Mitsubishi) Colt claiming 50 mpg?) Pack a weak mill in a 3000 lb steel shell with hardly any modern safety stuff and put a 2.91 rear in it and see what you can wring out of it doing 55 on a closed course oval. Check out a 2021 Nissa Altima, 3300 lbs, 188/180 HP, 28/39MPG and a top speed of about 130 with about 8 air bags, A/C and you could record a song in the cab its so quiet. All that equals a pretty boring drive to me.

I'm glad that you COULD care less since that means that you DO care somewhat.
You're mistaken, regardless.
The Darts were the all the same from the firewall to the bumper whether they were 2 door, 4 door or the Dart Sport. Anyone could remove the front end parts from a Dart Lite and bolt them to a Swinger or a 4 door.

I've been wrong before and it does suck to be in that position. It is good to learn new things though.

Here is some factory information.
Dart Lite on a Dart Sport 2 Door Coupe.
No mention of the 4 door Lite.
.
So what.
You'll notice your brochure does not mention the Spirit of 76 Dart either but they made them. I've got one right here in the garage.
I told you where the last place was that I saw the car. If you don't believe what I say Chase of son of a gun down for yourself.

Probably because this Feather Duster and the Dart Lite were under 3000 lbs and used skinny tires. Even the compact new cars weigh more than that and have to pass stricter emission standards.

NHRA had the Duster at 2770 for Stock Class back around 2000. Lighter than I thought, but NHRA weights are a little black magic.
