Yup. The ground strap for the plug press fits into the head and has a tendency to come loose and stay in the head during a plug change. I became Whitcomb Ford/Mercury/Hyundai's "expert" on changing the danged things out without breaking the porcelain on 'em. There's a procedure for doing the plugs: let the truck warm up to operating temp, then shut it down for cool down. When it cools off just warm enough to touch, pull the coils and loosen each plug a turn. Squirt some penetrating oil into each hole and walk away until the engine is completely cooled off. It works, though I did have to use the special tool a few times to get the ground strap out.

Here's a pic of a couple:

The one on the left is a plug like we're all used to. The one in the middle is one of the Motorcraft plugs which came out whole, the one to the right of it is one which came out in two pieces. The ground strap is the little thing next to it, which took the Rotunda tool to get out.

The first one I did, another shop broke two of 'em with the porcelain left in 'em. Had to get the porcelain out before I could use the Rotunda tool. Cost the owner $875 for 8 plugs and labor. He was heading over to the GM and Dodge dealerships to test drive other trucks.

Recently sold my '87 F250. I miss that truck, it would climb over anything, take tons of abuse, and never gave up. Not so good on gas though...

521 stroker, 5-speed, and Dana 60 front axle

One of my trucks is a 92 ford, got it for free from my mother in law, couldn't pass it up!

And I suppose if someone were to give me one of these Torino's for free I wouldn't turn that down either.

We have a '07 Focus, it's a great car for getting around.
I would definitely buy another one.
Great on gas too.

1996 F250 Plow Truck
2003 F150 FX4 it has been a great truck....my last brand new vehicle
2001 Mustang GT 5spd convertible commuter. I had about $18K saved up towards a new challenger then went through 2 plant closings in a year. $10K went into the 416 and a few other things for the 68 Formula S and $8K went into buying the Mustang. It is a fun car for the money and pulls down mid 20's MPG on the highway. Still want that Challenger though. Kind of hard to do on a 40% pay decrease over the last couple years.

Im curious -- Do you own a Ford Truck or Automobile?

If so - what model / year

Yup. I like Fords. Their modern automobile beats Chrysler all to snot. I have an 04 Ford Ranger Edge super cab and the wife has an 04 Ford Escape XLS 4 X 4. Other fords I have owned in the past:

1965 Falcon 2 door post
1964 Falcon 2 door post
1972 V8 conversion Pinto 289 Weiand tunnel ram two holleys pokin through the hood.
1968 E350 van. This was a rare one. Factory 302, P/S, P/B and air.
1979 LTD Police Interceptor 351W HO. Had 140 certified calibrated speedo....did all of it and then some.
2004 F250 XL crew cab Power Stroke truck.
1976 F250 with special heavy duty trailer towing option. Wish I still had this one.

I think that's all....I might have missed one or two or three. Damn, I've had more than 200 vehicles. Nuthin wrong with Fords.

My wife has a 65 mustang she loves. She takes it to the car show and I take my 67 dart we have a lot of fun doing it this way.

'01 Bullitt Mustang and '89 5.0 convertible. Though a diehard Mopar man, I'm ok with the Fords. My brother has a '90 F250 with almost 300,000 miles too.
