Dodge Dart A4 Buffed silver period race car

A4 is such a nice color. Looking forward to seeing this one finished. tmm
 
I like the flat yellow paint! Put some shiny Dart graphics on it. Wish I could park my car like that, against the wall...!
 
Cool build....but I'm partial to silver cars.

I like the Griffin aluminum rads...their factory looking model looks almost factory.

Its off the rotisserie on getting the trunk detailed. Feels so nice to get back in the game.
 
The trunk sealed up with PPG Epoxy sealer.

4 coats of base, three coats of clear. Fresh paint gets me pumped.

PPG Epoxy sealer on the floors and firewall. I dusted the backside of the firewall with color and clear just because. One of my groupies applying seam sealer.

I had to walk away from the Dart this winter and get this 56 Chevy done for a good friend of mine. I convinced him to paint it a Chrysler hue. 49' Desoto color
looks bitchin
feels so good to get back on my car. I hope to have in paint and at the strip for the Ohio nationals.

Its been a little while since Ive posted on my thread. Let me bring ya'll up to speed.
Got the car in finish primer. I tinted each coat so when it came to final wet sanding I could use the tints as a gauge of how much material is on the car. The least amount of primer the better.

I asked a few body shops if I could use there both for a weekend and no one was responsive. So...I just went for it in my filthy shop. Wet the floors down and started putting down base. I put a full two gallons of mixed base on this car. 4 gallons if you take into consideration the underside, jambs, trunk ....
 
2 gallons of mixed base. PPG DBC, then two coats(one gallon) of PPG 2021 clear. Wish I put another coat of clear on...gives you a extra build if it needs a fresh sand and polish in a few years.

I must have 50 hours in panel alignment alone. tweaking, twisting, welding, grinding. I have to say the final product shows in the super crisp lines and gaps.

had tri-city plating redo the original bumpers. Put the original trim and lights on. The chrome isn't perfect but I would rather have blemish originals then ching chang Chinese repro garbage.
 
I rebuilt a 4-speed for the car. 72' close ratio. Blasted the case parts with oxide then clear coated. we'll see how its judged. If anyone has a different approach to restoring bare iron I'm open for suggestions. dropped the
hot-rodded 340 and 4-speed in place. next is window regulators and alignment. the last car I did this task took 30 hours alone.
