Does the weather effect you!!

-
I guess I'm the oddball,...can't take heat anymore,....house doesn't go above 64 degrees or I can't sleep,...in the summer I live in the basement after 12 noon,...can't wait for skiing season...

everything aches except my dich ..cause i soaked it in cider.......

Presently in Georgia, we're having a pollen storm. Everything is coated with a yellow green layer of pollen.

...and, yes. That affects me! Runny nose, watery eyes, headache....

Weather affects me immensely. I'm 62, and my arthritis is getting much worse (Osteo) Because of gastric problems --caused by medications-- I cannot take really effective arthritis meds. Cortisone shots were innefective, and you can't take many of 'em anyway

Just 12 years ago or so, part of my job was climbing towers. Several years before that, I installed/ maintained HVAC, so spent a lot of time in attics, under houses, on my knees in basements, and climbing ladders.

Whenever I go to a hot arid area, say Phoenix, my sinus troubles pick up. Not uncommon for my head to hurt so bad that my vision gets blurry and I am wobbly on my feet.....cold and rain generally does not bother me though. Hang in there Mike, summer is on the way.....

Cold and high humidity really cause my hips to ache to the point that I can barely walk. When I was stationed in South Carolina, I had many days I collapsed on my floor in pain. Since I've been in California, I've only had the pain a few times, and nowhere near the intensity as before.

You are not alone Mike. Every Spring and Fall, when the weather is changing and is damp, my knees hurt so bad, that I wake up in the middle of the night sometimes and force my knee to straighten out and scream into my pillow in pain. I am 39 and this is from my years of standing on the concrete and playing football in my youth. :cussing:

I hear ya mike, I'm only 34 but I've got arthritis in both knees and since my accident have lost 80% of mobility in my knees. The weather used to bother just one but now both sucks, but I've had knee problems for 20 years. I espsecially hate fronts and temperature shifts. I feel for all of you guys. I agree the meds don't help at all.

We are both in our early 50's here-both had bad motorcycle accidents within a year of each other 20 plus years ago and Art gets major problems (broken back and neck) every time the air pressure changes (a front goes through). I however do not have problems with weather (left leg crushed/compound femur/severed nerve column & artery/broken ribs blah blah) so go figure? I do have pain but it is the same-day in day out.

And all this time we wish we was all grown up so we could do more and look what we get, This morning was one of my worse days to wake up to and I hope my day and yours keeps getting better, I may need a beauty nap here soon.
I was reading a thread on my blessing I have received here about 3 years ago that AdamR started and it got to me a bit but know I am settling down and taking it easy.
I hope you and yours have a great Strongend brother

Thanksss buddy take care.Cin says hi also.

Well it looks like your not alone Mike.My knees let me know when there's a weather change. All my fault, from kneeling down on tile floors and cement and loose stones for about 25 years without knee pads.I wear them know but it's a little late.

any weather change kills me.. i have had 2 shoulder surgery and been putting off the next, this 1 will replace my shoulder (right) and im right handed man its going to suck....i went to concord last yr. to pinks all out and thought i was going to die going up man it was a long day ..

I could barrely get out of bed this morning and wondered what the heck :o
My akles to my neck was hurting like I was thrown from a truck or rolled down the hill yesterday when I woke up this morning:shock:
I woke up about 4 am and took my medacation and laid back down just to lay in pain and not disturb my wife while she slept
I feel back to sleep and was awoken by the shower running and I just could not lay in bed and set up and was woundering what the heck I did yesterday to feel this way :shaking::banghead:
Then I herd thunder outside :o and seen the weather report of sleet and thunder hitting us this morning
But getting around a bit and putting my mind on fabo has gave me relief :happy10:

Seeing it sleet and have thunder and lightning this morning took me by surprise early this morning :o This is some weird and rare weather front that hit me here on the hill this morning :o:o:o

Pain wait until you get as old as some of us i just turned 65 and i live in Pain all the time from hitting my hands with a hammer most of my life working on cars and trucks they hurt all the time also racing hill climbs (motorcycle) i have had 9 broken ankles my left wrist broken my right foot broken and fractured my necj twice lots of pain each day but to tell the truth if i could i would do it all over again if was fun getting all this PAIN lol then the biggest thing that could happen and live thru hit me in 1996 cancer but im still alive and doing great i can only get up each morning and thank GOD for the gift of another day and do i each and every day

We all need some nice sunshine to get our spirits, and health back up to tip-top. This bottle of Forty Creek is sure helping tonight:thumrigh:

Sorry Mike I'm not going to list all my weather related ailments, and there are many, but I'd just like to say all this snow and cold has got me oiling up the shooting irons. If it don't stop I'm going to kill something and call it "weather related dimensia". :thebirdm::thebirdm:

I'm so pissed off.

I might start off by holeing my TV when the next dam *** show like American Idol comes on, people get a life for god sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bootysha::bootysha:

I live on the central coast of california, snow is unknown here, allthough I have seen it on tv.I am 69 years old and my body hurts all the time.you just plod along and do your best,I can not lay under a car for very long, takes about 20 mitutes to get out.I use jack daniels for the pain .my dad is from canada,he told me that years ago it was so cold in the house ,he got out of bed in the morning and stepped on one of his socks, and it broke.now thats cold.

My second wife had major issues with gloomy weather ( she had this before I came into her life). One of the best things we did was to make her a solid white room. It help keep her gloom away.

As for physical disconfort, its helps your feet and legs a lot to change shoes 1/2 way thru the work day.

I hope I never rant about a bad day again.
Going to soak this thread up and learn from it...
You can bet I will never give in to it Jack.

HELL YA!!! Damn weather....feel like I've been hit by a train some mornings,or played football without pads..or a helmet for that matter!

I used both hand rails to get to the balcony at church last Sunday. It's time for me to sit down with the old folks. LOL I'm with the rest of you, the weather (especially lately) has me aching from every joint. I have a bad shoulder and my wrist aches on the same side. I'm setting here right now with a heating pad on my neck. I'll try to get into the chiropractor Monday afternoon. It's been a while since my last visit and I think I need it. I'm sure glad for Ibuprofen. I take one 3 times a day and it does help. I can sure tell when it wears off. Warmer weather will help us all. toolmanmike
