That's unique, not sure I have seen a tube like that used as an oil chute.

It looks like there is going to be an oil flood in the timing cover.

I would consider a more restricted feed for the timing chain.
You will lose a lot of flow and pressure to the rest of the system.

thinking that oil hole is just a dribbler - it will do its dribblin a little closer to the chain Its close enough to the gear that it may cause a small vacum & draw a little ?? or fan it away ??

Have you had those bolts come loose on you before? Are you putting this engine in a Piper Cub?

Thats funny! i was going to guess a Cessna :p oddly enough the Lycoming i used to fly was a 360 CID!

Thread is giving me safety wire PTSD from my Air Force days... I've strung miles of that stuff. Admit I still have a pair of safety wire pliers in my toolbox... lol.

I'll give ten bucks to the first person that burned up a timing chain due to lack of oil from putting regular bolts in all four locations.

If you've ever raced things at lots of national level road course events, you are very familiar with those pliers as well. I have a set in my toolbox from racing and crewing on all sorts of stuff.

Nice work, haven't seen those bolts come loose myself. Always a first time.

Pretty OCD

I guess those bolts won't come loose though

Nope I would have probably been that guy and knock on wood it hasn’t happened yet. Just pulled a chain off a low 9 second small block that I ran for five years and the chain looks and feels great. I wouldn’t run it again but then again I would never rerun a used chain or gears.
