I have a set of electric cut-outs that dump before the mufflers.

Would I see better performance out of them if I had a short (say 24") extension attached to them so they don't dump straight after the butterfly valve?

ATM, they are located about 18" down line from the x-pipe, but there is no extension or taper after the actual cut out valve.

Hope this makes sense?

No you wouldn't. The best place for them is just behind the headers (when I've installed/used them I run a short turn down aimed towards the side of the car) so you can create an open header effect.

bingo... but you have to jet accordingly to get full advantage out of it...

OK - thanks for the feedback

I do jet it up when I open them..but MPH increase hasn't ever been huge.

Run without for a while now have them, perosnal perference, doubt you would notice any advantage in power, might change the sound some. I really didn't notice a difference either way.
